He might be high, but he's not stupid. You can't be an anti-Semite in Hollywood for heavens sake.

That is classic about his birth name. His brother chose to use his birth name professionally as opposed to Chuck and his Pop's. I recall my mom saying they have a beautiful mother. Pretty sure they both have the same birth mom.

Man, I feel for the dad and the brother. It's immensely difficult watching your child grown or otherwise slowly kill themselves.

Personally I think she is seriously afraid of him. I would be.

Didn't he "cut her a break" with the kids because she didn't testify or dime him out after he beat his last wife senseless? Something like he gave her full custody maybe?

He signed over parental rights to Denise last year. Does that mean he has no rights to his kids? Does he have to still pay child support? I always thought that when you gave up parental rights (or had them taken away by the courts) that it basically meant you were no longer the child's parent. I don't get it.

I think it's in the terminology...You can give up custody but that's not the same as having your rights legally terminated which, I believe, means you are no longer the child's parent. I have heard that you still could have to pay for them but I'm not sure if that's true. And then, as with so many things, it may vary from state to state.

Maybe one of our lawyers can weigh in on this- Gitana???

Losing or giving away your parental rights in California does not automatically release you from child support obligations. Child support is a separate issue that the court would decide based on the best interests of the children (like if someone else was going to adopt and support them.)

Otherwise, think of all the guys who would just sign something giving up their rights to children they don't care about just to get out of child support.

Unless there is a good reason not to share legal custody, usually that is split 50/50. It means either parent can get medical care for the child(ren) and/or whatever details are worked out in the custody agreement.

Physical custody determines where the child spends their time, 50/50 or joint should be split fairly equally, 80/20 is every other weekend, a couple hours during the week, 2 weeks straight at some point during the year and 1/2 of the holidays. Child support is also determined by physical custody & income.

Relinquishing parental rights can be done voluntarily or can be mandated by the courts. Sometimes a parent will surrender the rights to allow a step parent adoption (also done for outside adoption) - this means the adult is no longer the parent, has no legal rights to the child and is not responsible for the child's support. Rights can be terminated by the courts for abuse, abandonment and failure to support - this is not something the courts take lightly, it's time consuming and the judge can always say no (depending on the reasons I would assume).

I'd be surprised to learn that CS had relinquished his rights - I believe that DR has full (100%) physical custody and controls when and where CS sees the girls. He would thereby still be their father and probably pays a ton of Child Support, pays for their private schools etc, etc as he should.

Denise would not be so obliging in her interviews if the money flow was cut off.:twocents:

Sheen Shopping Book Deal -- Starting Bid $10 Mil

2/26/2011 1:00 AM PST by TMZ Staff

Charlie Sheen tells TMZ he's writing a tell-all book about life on the set of "Two and a Half Men" -- with details about what led up to the final implosion -- and he wants at least $10 mil for the publishing rights.

I'm not sure he could get 10 cents at this point. Who would want to read it? Honestly, before the latest craziness he might have had a chance to sell this but now...does anyone else see the bargain bin at Barnes and Noble in his future?

Hey for a slice of that pie  I can even write it for him:

My fans, my followers, I have given my all to MY SHOW these past 8 years and it hasn't been easy. The working environment was toxic and my coworkers just aren't that funny - I did my best, I want you to know (my fans) I. DID. MY. BEST. Now that the real story behind MY SHOW has leaked to the press, you can see they are all p***y's who won't even fight like REAL MEN in the octagon. They are snakes. They aren't worthy of me, my talents, MY SHOW!

Let the bidding wars begin.

The more I read, the more I realize that as screwed up as Sheen is and is in need of help, Charles Lorre is not an innocent bystander in Sheen raging against the show. As of late some of Lorre's end credit Vanity Cards were nothing more than Lorre going up to a crazed rattlesnake and poking it for shiz n giggles. Mind you, I am NOT defending Sheen... I think he is off his rocker and needs serious help... but Lorre has also egged him on. Shame on both of them...

Sheen proves over and over just how delusional his uber-large ego has made him. Truth be told, it is not him that makes the show, it is the kid, IMO. Charlie played the cookie-cutter "man ho"... a majority of the time the laughs came from the other characters, while Charlie's character was just about sexual/drinking one-liners.

I'm sorry, I didn't hear you, I was too busy winning! (That's my new Charlie Sheen phrase since "winner" seems to be his favorite word lately, lol)

His constant use of the words "winner" and "winning" Is an attempt to convince both himself and others that he's not a "loser". In other words, Denial.
Dr Drew was on HLN talking about the term "terminal uniqueness" and I think that definitely applies to Charlie. He's not going to get help because he doesn't feel like he as a problem, he's a winner. I don't think he will get help until he hits rock bottom.

I see it as Lorre losing patience and being very frustrated with someone who he is paying alot of money to, has it all, and is throwing it away. And bottom line? He's the boss. Below is a link to an small article about Lorre.

I agree. Lorre has been dealing with the total insanity of dealing with an alcoholic/addict in the throes of their addiction for quite some time now. Me thinks his patience has run out. It's completely understandable. JMO.

OT...your title to the thread just caught my eye...too bad being sober is boring...Well too bad they can't put that energy & money into something constructive like helping to find missing kids & adults huh.

Charlie Sheen has more to get off his chest.

The Two and a Half Men star – who went on a rant against his boss and others last week – offers a look inside his world and says he wants to share his side of the story, in a new televised interview set to air this week.

"I have one speed. I have one gear. Go!" he tells ABC's Andrea Canning in a 20/20 interview airing Tuesday. "I dare you to keep up with me."

Sheen, 45, tells Canning, who visited the actor and two female companions at his home this weekend, "I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen."
Charlie Sheen isn't a drug. It's a trainwreck.
After reading that he passed a drug test I am convinced his problem isn't drugs. It's mental illness.

Um, while it may not be a good idea, there are those who are in hollywood and antisemites, ala Mel Gibson and his comments in recent years.

I think it's a fancy word of giving up custody, because in reality he can't just give up his legal obligations as a parent. He's gonna pay until their 18 (and if not longer - college etc). What hurts me the most is one day the children will find out he gave up custoday (well if he lives that long). How is he going to explain that to them? I suspect the 2 boys will be next.

Oh no, now on tele. I wonder if someone will put in his flapper (fake teeth). He looks older than my mom when she passed at 70. Better bring a shovel with ya Charlie cuz you certainly be doing a lot of digging these days.
