Police station attacked in S. Russia, suicide bombing feared

A police station in Russia’s Stavropol region has come under attack, according to news sources. Some reports say three suicide bombers were involved.

The police would not provide any details of the attack. No casualty report was immediately available.

RIA Novosti cites a security source as saying that three suicide bombers used at least five explosive devices in the attack. The attackers were killed by the blasts, it said. This is yet to be confirmed by authorities.

There is a saying. An old saying however. That we all have a twin/doppelganger somewhere. Now. I wouldn't of normally taken much notice. But.....
I lived in Germany for around 7 years. As 1st hubby was in the Army.
We'd visit back in the UK about 3 times a year. After our last visit. We had decided to spend Christmas with the family this time round. As we'd had both sets of parents the last 2 years. Anyways. We were back in Germany around end July....
I get an urgent/crazy/no sense phone call from my mom. Saying "why have you stayed in Portsmouth n yr hubby gone back with kids. How you gonna get there. What's happened what's wrong ring me SOON plz!"

So I rang may mom. N I was all confused like. N momma said did you fly back? ...... me being sarcastic said... oh yeah I got mach 10 arms as wings 🤐

My mom verbally slapped me (LOL) and I asked why?
Then she said that a friend of mine seen me in town. She was in a queue so couldn't just walk over. So she shouted me. But apparently I was being ignorant (who me? Nah lol)
By the time she finished paying she looked around but I had gone. So she asked her sister. Her sister asked my mom. Blah blah blah.....
I have a doppelganger that lives in my 'home' town... freaky nah?
Altho....... I was never told who my dad was... it was hush hush. My 2 other sisters knew their dad's. But I didn't. And apparently I was 1 part of a twin. but the twin was a boy.... (wierd I know)
So .... maybe my birth dad. Has a family. And has a girl. That's shares some parts of me.

Belgian analyst Pieter Van Ostayene thinks that it is not likely that Mohamed Abrini was the third person responsible for the terror attack at Brussels Airport.
"This is just a feeling, but I can hardly imagine that someone with such a position in the Islamic state is the man in the hat,” he said on Saturday (9 April) in an interview to Belga news agency.

Pieter Van Ostayene is a historian and arabist who comments on current affairs in the Middle East.

"This does not correspond to how the Islamic State operates, and I have been following them for years,” Pieter Van Ostayene says. “The rhetoric doesn’t fit into the whole picture.

"I cannot imagine that anyone with such a function in the Islamic State will suddenly say 'it happened like this' and explain that he has sold his hat - I don’t believe this for a minute. In my opinion this is a cover to protect the rest of the network.”

When Salah Abdeslam was detained everybody was euphoric. We thought it was over, that the network was dismantled. I am convinced this is not the case."

Van Ostayen is a Middle East historian, an Arabist, a lover of Syria, a multilingual maestro. For years, from his tiny apartment in Mechelen, Belgium, he has tracked, studied and communicated with European jihadists who joined ISIS and other extremist groups.

"They weren't known as radicals. They were known as hardened criminals. The police were using two lists. The list of people you should be looking for because they are known for radical Islam, and the other list, people known for violent crimes. But they didn't cross-reference them. Nobody actually had any idea that they had to look on the other list."

He says the allure of criminals for ISIS is significant. They have useful connections to weapons, money laundering, fake IDs, safe houses. And, crucially, they aren't as hard to convince to engage in violence.

When asked if ISIS is handpicking them for this reason Van Ostayen nods, "In a way, yes."

Belgian investigators tracked Zerkani's network for two years, resulting in several arrests in 2014, including Zerkani himself. He has been sentenced to 12 years in jail for participating in a terrorist organization. He is appealing.

"Mr. Zerkani has perverted an entire generation, particularly the youth of Molenbeek," prosecutor Bernard Michel said last February.

ISIS Names Brussels Attackers

The ISIS magazine, released online overnight, described Brussels bombers Ibrahim and Khalid El-Bakraoui as key logisticians in the terror cell that carried out both the Brussels attack last month and the Paris attacks in November.

“All preparations for the raids in Paris and Brussels started with him [Khalid] and his older brother Ibrahim,” the magazine says.

The magazine praised another young man identified as Najm al-Ashrawi, who also blew himself up in the Brussels airport, and said his radicalization began just in 2013 when he went to fight in Syria. Authorities previously identified the second airport bomber as Najim Laachraoui. The magazine said he was wounded in fighting in Syria and, while recovering, “began to train in order to realize his dream of returning to Europe to avenge the Muslims of Iraq and Sham [a region including Syria] for the constant bombing of crusader warplanes.”

24-year-old has been ID'd as bomb-maker for the Paris and Brussels attacks

Flemish-language station VTM reported that Najim Laachraoui, a 24-year-old Moroccan-born Belgian, was recruited to work at the airport by a temp agency. The news report did not say what job he was doing.

European security officials had previously named Laachraoui as the suspected bomb-maker for the Paris attacks, which left 130 people dead. A French police official told The Associated Press that Laachraoui's DNA was found on all of the vests as well as in a Brussels apartment where they were made.

The Belgian prosecutor's office said he travelled to Syria in February 2014 and was checked by guards at the Austria-Hungary border while driving in a Mercedes with Salah Abdeslam and one other person.

Laachraoui also may have worked at the European Parliament. Earlier this month, European Parliament said one of the Brussels attackers had held a summer cleaning job at its Brussels headquarters in 2009 and 2010. A source close to the inquiry named that person as Laachraoui.
