Investigators search landfill for remains of dismembered Baytown man

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) --

Investigators found the remains of a human torso in a Chambers County landfill back in August and while they have not said it is that of Steven Coleman, they will be back out there today continuing the search.

According to investigators, Cierra Sutton admitted to others that she shot her boyfriend, Steven Coleman, in the head as he slept after an argument.
Detectives say Sutton then used a machete to dismember the body because Coleman was too heavy for her to carry. Police say the remains were then placed in different dumpsters which were then brought to the landfill.

The murder reportedly took place around August 16. The torso was discovered on August 22. Then Hurricane Harvey hit, keeping detectives from working on the case.

PA - Marquise Braham - Penn St. - suicide may be due to frat hazing

GRAND JURY TO RECONSIDER CHARGES IN PENN STATE PLEDGES'S SUICIDE AFTER ALLEGED HAZING

A state grand jury in Pennsylvaniawill take a second look at whether criminal charges should be filed in the 2014 suicide death of an 18-year-old Penn State student who allegedly had been hazed at his fraternity, CNN has learned.
The death of Marquise Braham is getting a fresh look by a new set of investigators in light of allegations that Penn State University for years has mishandled reports of hazing. Marquise's parents, who recently spoke with CNN, insist officials turned a blind eye to the psychological distress their son's fraternity experience imposed, which Penn State disputes.

California declares state of emergency over deadly hepatitis A outbreak
http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-ln-hepatitis-california-20171013-story.html

"California Gov. Brown declared a state of emergency Friday because of a hepatitis A outbreak that has killed at least 18 people in the state.

The declaration allows state health officials to buy additional doses of the hepatitis A vaccine to try to halt the outbreak, which is already the nation’s second largest in more than two decades.

“We have the capacity to use as much vaccine as we can get our hands on,” said Dr. Gil Chavez, state epidemiologist with the California Department of Public Health."
