[h=3]Fourth arrest made in Burke Co kidnapping, victim still missing[/h]

The investigation began on Jan. 19 when the family of 30-year-old Carlton Lamaar Edmondson contacted the Valdese Police Department. The family said they got phone calls from an unknown person saying Carlton - their son - had been kidnapped.

The caller was reportedly demanding money in exchange for Edmondson's return.

An Oklahoma man has been sentenced to 15 years of probation after pleading guilty to brutally raping and sodomizing a 13-year-old Texas girl at a church camp.

The Oklahoman reports that 36-year-old Benjamin Lawrence Petty was given the suspended sentence Jan. 19 after entering a negotiated guilty plea to first-degree rape, forcible sodomy and rape by instrumentation. (snip)

Murray County Assistant District Attorney David Pyle says a major factor in his decision not insist on prison time was due to Petty being legally blind.

Bertin said they found a small plastic container on wheels about six feet underground. It was about 3 ½ by 2 ½ feet big and believed to contain the remains of an adult.

CBS4 has learned a deputy has died. Colorado Springs Police Chief Pete Carey updated news organizations and said the situation started as a motor vehicle theft near N. Murray Boulevard and Galley Road.
