Jute would be fine grained but rough.Burlap would be larger and more open if that makes sense.

As far as decomp. Should be just as fast the bags have no chemicals and are biodegradable. Also a kind if natural camo color and material wise .
Hope that helps.

A true test would be getting two pig shanks and put one in burlap and one not. @ a temp close to the disapperance dates.Should be able to tell in a couple days rate if decomp.

I think burlap was used to camouflage the bodies.

I tend to agree with this. He wanted to be able to come back, know where the bodies were, without them being found. Burlap is much better for this than a sheet, plastic, etc.

Late dates would also simply indicate that they came to him more tired, already disoriented from substances already used, less likely to be able to call or text their contacts and get a response, and easier for killer to cover tracks in the dead of the night.

I just think he used it because it is what he had to put the bodies in at the time. It worked the first time, so he continued with it. I hope that other agencies have any similar cases in VICAP, because if they do, it will hit with these four as a similar killing. He may have even stopped killing, taken a break if you will. Things change and people have to change too. If he was arrested, or have a job transfer, a job loss, or even a health issue, that prevents him from killing and transporting the weight of dead bodies. All of these could interrupt his pattern. But I don't think he will ever completely stop, he can't. Maybe he is hiding his victims better, IDK. But people do what works, what is easy, so that is why I think he had access to the burlap and the canal and he got away with it, for now.

People are talking about blood and burlap. If the four were strangled there would be no blood. Burlap could be an indicator that he is a little smarter than average.

One one of shows they talked about the bodies facing east. If that is true, one should give a lot of thought to that point of interest. Burlap and east would go together nicely.

Looking at the photos it is hard to tell, but should this be a trophy room of sorts the killer could be visiting them from far away. Could one work in a building of sufficient height that he could view them from across the way using a powerful telescope?

I believe the year of the year of the pig necklace means nothing. For those unfamiliar with unclean animals..."Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat". "Nevertheless, among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.And the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you". Welcome to Ws wfsltt!
Cannot immediately recall if the victims found in LI were facing East, but the Atlanta victims were facing that way.

ATLANTIC CITY (PIX11) - When four, dead women were discovered fully clothed, yet barefoot, in a drainage ditch behind a West Atlantic City motel, it was jarring—to say the least.
That was on November 20, 2006, and there was another, disturbing notation detectives made about the crime scene -- all four victims were facing the same direction, east, towards the boardwalks and casinos of Atlantic City.

'Indeed, the strongest link in the case is proximal: the bodies were deposited above ground in the same area, each 50 feet from the highway. Commissioner Dormer said they were spread over a quarter mile, each 500 feet from the next. But they were placed there at different times, judging by their varying degrees of decomposition, he said.“Obviously, it does not look like they were dumped at the same time,” he said. “A couple of them were there a year, or year and a half, or maybe two years. Not recent.”'

I apologise if this has already been discussed before.......I have just finished watching the first two episodes and have today joined this site........after reading posts in regard to the burlap sacks (which really stood out to me) is it in any way possible to trace the material back to a manufacturer? If this is possible then maybe records are kept about purchasers (names, company names, locations etc)? If a roll was purchased would it be cut from a larger roll? Was any trace evidence found on the sacks? Again apologies if this has already been discussed and cleared up, was just a quick brainstorm thought.....

My guess is they already know who the manufacture was and to which stores the material was delivered. I'm guessing if the material was purchased the LEOs have watched all of the videos from those locations to see if they can get pictures/video of the person that made the purchase. If the material was second hand the business that purchased it would have been reviewed and samples of dirt, or vegitation that was stored in the burlap is already known.

As one would expect.

I have to wonder if this was done for his viewing pleasure or if he views them (their souls) as still being alive. Is he viewing them or does he want them to see the city?

Again, I know we want to explore all possible burlap connections and I think its critical that we keep doing it.

A week or two ago I had asked how easy it was to obtain burlap from sources that the common man can access and did not get a response other than that it was important that we investigate the possibilities (totally agreed).

However, I just want to put it out there that I just went over to Amazon.com and you can buy potato and racing style 24x40 burlap sacks there as well as burlap rolls. It seems you can buy these products at any number of hardware stores or nursery supply stores as well.

It would be highly interesting to know the exact dimensions of the material and any markings/words/branding because if they were just run of the mill burlap sacks, it seems anyone can obtain them. There could be no connection whatsoever to the person's occupation or hobbies.

And if there is, it could be as simple as that the person works at a hardware store.

Just a thought.
RBBM-
Amazon makes me think of TK! Has anyone looked at the reviews on the burlap?:scared:
Just thinking outloud! I sure hope no one made "reviews" about bodies!

As one would expect.

No necessarily. I was looking for that piece of information, as it would (hopefully) show, that the soil underneath the burlap material may show signs of decomposition as well. How else would Dormer know, when the victims were dumped? The bodies could have decomposed somewhere else and LISK eventually moved and dumped them here - not.

I'd like to know how the girls were " wedged. Wrapped ...dumped in " etc in the burlap......was it a sack ? Or was it a wrap ? How ?
