On 11/13 Ashley got on a plane from DFW to LAX. We have not seen or heard from her since. We have confirmation that she made it to LAX and are working with police to pull video footage to see what car she got into an run license plates. If you hear anything from her or see her PLEASE contact me or LA/Orange County police.

A body found wrapped in plastic and cardboard in an abandoned moving truck in Fullerton on Wednesday was that of a 27-year-old Anaheim woman, police announced Friday. The cause of Ashley Manning's death is pending the results of toxicology results, which could take several weeks to complete, authorities said.

What happened to Ashley?

Wow. I wonder if she got an Uber or Lyft to get to the Fullerton/Anaheim area.

Surely there is a record of who last rented that Uhaul.

Gosh I hope this isn’t a case like Mackenzie Lueck inasmuch as she took a plane ride, came back and disappeared after being at the airport. FWIW

Thanks for creating this thread. Too bad there was a lack of media coverage on this when she initially went missing. MOO
Yeah it really doesn't seem like LE did much to help the family at all in this case, but I wonder if it is because the wrong agency took the mp report (Dallas PD or LAPD vs Anaheim PD now working it). Even after finding her dead and wrapped in plastic in an abandoned truck, they still tell the media it isn't necessarily a homicide but is jut suspicious. She didn't wrap herself up. Even if this is an OD, whoever gave her the drugs and dumped the body is guilty of her death imo - I'd think the majority of dealers and users in CA know that you can anonymously report an OD or even bring someone to the ER and not be arrested or obligated to give a statement.

Here is a more recent photo - the flyer appears to use one over 5 years old.

Sadly her FB leaves little clues - none of those friends seem to have kept up with Ashley after she moved to CA, so I have to wonder if there was a boyfriend? Her sister also lives in CA but her fam is in Dallas. This is the only other thing I could find out there to give us a picture of who she was, and it clearly is not the whole picture:

Katonah woman in heroin bust

I spent my youth in Orange County and still have family there, but for the first time feel like I have no insights - it is a deeply diverse area with a mix of gang activity, cartels, high income neighbourhoods, celebrities, transients and tourists. This could be literally anything, but I'd be curious where she was living, if her belongings were in the truck, and if she was known to still be using.

So little publicity and so few clues! And so many questions!
1. Who rented the U-haul?
2. Why was the U-haul rented?
3. Who picked Ashley up from LAX?
4. There are cameras everywhere in airports. Was footage pulled when she went missing?
5. Was she a drug user?
6. Did she have a boyfriend?

Hi ashley is my friend and we have the same questions I would really like to find out what happened unfortunately there’s not much I formation but yes she did drugs and I suspect a bf was Involved but don’t really know anything yet

I’m just gonna have to say this out of personal knowledge and can’t supply a link but it is a thing to rent a UHaul truck and so drugs out of it. My daughters ex boyfriend and his new wife had to move (evicted) so they rented two UHaul trucks. They were suppose to have the trucks for two days. After that time, they did not return them, they were living out of them in the parking lot of a motel.

Finally, a patrol car came by and arrested the two knuckleheads. They had been doing drugs in one of them the whole time.

Now, back to this case, someone could have rented the UHaul and there was a party in it. Ashley May have overdosed and her addict buddies, high could have panicked and not known what to do so they left her in the UHaul and ditched it. Not too smart on the part of who rented it.

I have a feeling that part of the case won’t take long at all. IMO, IME.

Someone just asked if the guy they posted about on Wednesday’s Wanted was wanted for the UHaul.

Anaheim PD posted something on Wednesday evening about someone wanted for “false representation” and drugs. He was in his 20s. Does Ashley know him? The false representation is vague and drug possession seems very minor to put someone on blast over. I bet there’s a connection.

She didn’t live in a nice part of Anaheim. Instincts are saying it is drug related. The police aren’t putting that out there initially because people are jerks and will trash her/dismiss the seriousness of it because she is an addict.

I found a photo of her from her younger years. So sad. Looks like a completely different girl. She was happy once :( . I assume it’s the same girl. If she was a freshman in 2009, she was probably 18-19 putting her at 29-30 in 2020.

Interesting comment under that “wanted Wednesday” post from the cemetery worker....

You can link the “wanted Wednesday “ if it’s in media

She actually isn’t from Anaheim she’s from New York and she was just living all over the place I don’t even know where really for awhile she lived in Costa Mesa but then I started to lose track of her and she went to stay in Texas with her friend and told me she was coming back to Orange County and wanted to see me then I never heard from her

This was posted on another page that it was the same day she went missing. Her friend said she listened to it over and over and thinks it sounded like her but not sure :(

I remember this broadcast on ABC7 here in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. It was chilling. No one helped the girl. I guess everyone was too afraid. When the gals screams drew attention, dude left.
