Unidentified White Female

The victim was discovered on February 10, 1997 in Desert Hot Springs, Riverside County, California
Vital Statistics
Estimated age: 40-55 years old
Approximate Height and Weight: 5'6"; 145 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Brown, shoulder length hair with gray mixed in; hazel eyes. She had no scars or tattoos.
Dentals: Available. She had extensive dental work including crowns and root canal work.
Clothing: A light colored striped shirt, blue denims pants, brown shoes and a tan/yellowish windbreaker jacket. She was wearing large frame prescription bi-focal eyeglasses. She was wearing a wedding ring.
Fingerprints: Available

Case History
The victim was located in the hills behind the Desert Crossing shopping center in Desert Hot Springs, CA.
She was fully dressed with superficial contusions to her legs and head. She may have been disoriented. She was found with her personal property including medication and money. All identification was intentionally missing or had been obliterated. Extensive local searches have all had negative results.

I have a possible match with Anne Ferguson of Tennessee (with matches to UID highlighted). do you think she could have wandered as far as CA?

Date Of Birth: July 25, 1938
Age at Time of Disappearance: 58 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'4"- 5'9"; 130 - 140 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Green/hazel eyes; brown/grey hair. She wears glasses. Medical conditions: She suffers from an unspecified illness, and did not bring her medications with her.

Circumstances of Disappearance
The two last known sightings of Ferguson was at JJ's Market on January 14, 1996, In Bledsoe County, TN. She was last seen walking on Highway 127 in Bledsoe County towards Sequatchie County TN.

FC; It's a possibility that she got that far, if she was picked up by a trucker or someone going that way! Consider all possibilities, that's my motto....
The missing ladys photo is not very good quality, but I searched and couldn't find a better one. I cleaned it up as much as I could....

Despite the similarities, I don't think Anne Blanche Ferguson/Frady is this Jane Doe.

I found a myspace devoted to Anne and it says she has scars (appendectomy & hysterectomy) and Jane Doe has no scars.

FC; Did you submit this? They're very close, sometimes LE doesn't list all the scars (not sure why, but it may keep folks from submitting anyone and evryone with those same scars) as we have found with 1987 TN Jane. If you haven't submitted, you might call and ask if Jane did have any scars like Mrs. Ferguson-Frady!!!

Stephanie Fladgard went missing October 18, 1996. There aren't many details about her disappearance, but she is the right age, weight, height and the hair and glasses match. The date is acceptable depending on why she went missing...which we don't know.

I was looking to see if she already had a thread here and was just about to add one, so I am really glad that I checked again. I think part of my confusion was that the Riverside County Coroner and NamUs both list her as being found in Palm Desert, CA and the Doe Network says she was found in Desert Hot Springs, CA.

I checked at Target.com and there isn't a Target store in Desert Hot Springs but there is one in Palm Desert located at 72549 Highway 111, Palm Desert, CA, 92260-3306. Coincidentally, the Desert Crossing Shopping Center is also located at the intersection of Fred Waring Dr. and Highway 111, Palm Desert, CA 92260. http://www.shopdesertcrossing.com/
The circumstances of the discovery of this lady's body (on NamUs) are interesting and I wanted to add them --

This woman was found by a construction crew in hills behind the shopping center. She had some personal property with but no identification. She some greeting cards but the addressee and signature were torn out.

She appeared to have been dead about one day and may have been living in that area for a few days. She had expensive dental work. and was wearing a wedding ring.

NamUs also says that besides the cards, there were bus passes found with her body.

Recently, I was looking at the people who had escaped or walked away from the Nevada Department of Corrections (with a different unidentified person in mind) and noticed Margaret A. Barrett (this is what prompted me to see if this UID had a thread) --

There are a lot of things that are questionable about this. I tried to find about more information about Ms. Barrett and her 1986 escape/walk away and was unable to (such as what was she in prison for, more about her vital statistics, and was she the sort of person who would have dental work that included as much gold as the UID). Would her fingerprints have been in CODIS from that far back? The fingerprints shown on the Riverside website look sort of damaged (IMO).
