Pineda is considered at risk. The sheriff's office said that is because of her personal history and the terrain she was last seen at is treacherous.

The sheriff's office told KCRA 3 that search and rescue crews have been looking for her since Monday night, all day Tuesday and are continuing their efforts Wednesday morning. Crews are using ropes and other equipment because the area is remote and hard to access.

Mining camps are communities that house people who work in mines and are oftentimes located in remote areas. Many historic camps date back to the 1800s.

She was involved in a non lethal use of force by law enforcement in 2022 when she had an incident involving a mental health break (drugs/alcohol), though I don't think that was known at the time the call came in, but the result appears on a quick read to end with her waving a gun towards residents of an apartment building (which appears to include children) as well as a large knife according to witnesses. Officers used a K9 officer to subdue her when she refused to put down the weapon (and a taser may have been deployed) Could have ended much worse all the way around. If this won't open you can find the report using the "Sacramento Police Level 1 Use of Force" with her name in google.
