John is an employee of the National Park Service. He was last seen on August 15 in Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley. It is unknown what clothing he is wearing.

My local news station reported he was found deceased.

No other reports of what happened him. Last thing officials said was no further details investigation pending. But, its been years now so what happened? As far as I recall no location of where he was found was released either, so odd.

Maybe families don't want information released because the results were inconclusive. So nothing to add or gain. Just speculating on both deaths (the other hiker found close to the date the ranger was found deceased.)
