Bumping case up. This Jane Doe was probably killed way back in 1948. Does anyone have more information?

Wow, coming up on 70 years without an ID.

What about Frances Groves? https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/17377/0/
Height fits, and her teeth look prominent to me, but her age is off and the year is wrong. But they said year was estimated and Kern and Riverside counties are within daytrip distance, depending on which part of the county.

Another possibility: Bertha Smith of Maricopa County, Arizona.
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/11819/14?current_page=circumstances
Wrote a mysterious letter to her family and disappeared in 1944. Height fits, she seems to have buckteeth, and her age is closer than Frances. Not too close, but within a reasonable range.

Patricia Crandall: Age (18 - 19) is one year off, height (5'3) is within range, timing (disappeared March 1949) is consistent.
Shasta County is 466 miles from Kern County, but it says that Patricia was last seen with a black suitcase so it's possible she was going on a trip when she disappeared.

Patricia Crandall and especially Lorraine Chance both seem like really good potential matches.

Rocky Wells says this potential match has already been reported to LE.

Think Frances is too much of a stretch, age-wise. Bertha could be a fit but not sure how they'd match them because Jane Doe only has dentals available and Bertha doesn't. :(

Spontaneous question: why hide it, bury it right there? Maybe someone who worked or knew that foundry killed her? Or was the foundry abandoned at the time and nobody could see it while doing it?

This missing lady made me think of the UID. She's very tall and I can't see any height listed for the Kern county UID. I expect the remains were skeletal but sometimes they can still judge the height by the length of the leg bones.

In the photos her upper teeth might protrude a little but it's hard to tell. In one photo her mouth is closed but her upper lip seems to stick out a little further than the lower lip. The Kern County PD is in charge of Ms. Long's case.

Looks like Jane Doe is estimated at 5'1" - 5'3" (61-63 inches). Geneva would be way over that, but if they meant 6'1" - 6'3", then it would more closely fit. The similarity in timing and location is pretty interesting, I'd say.

Nothing more to add for now, only that this case reminds me of one of my pet cases, Irondequoit Jane Doe.
