Wait... so in this article they indicated that right away they thought it was a woman's body.

Now they are recategorizing as undetermined gender?

Other than possible clothing, jewelry or hair length, what would have made them initially consider it is a woman?

I think the various le involved may have spoken too soon or media may have twisted their words because I thought the same thing.
Making an immediate determination as to gender would Depend on the state of decomp unless there was clothes or jewelry or personal possessions left on the body. Maybe they found clothing that led them to believe it was a female. I'm sure both had good intentions but maybe spoke a little too soon. Either way, I hope some family will have closure really soon.

it is probably not Maricela or Elaine, if that's the case, since its only been about two months since their disappearance. I hope they can identify who it is though. :/

I'm not sure what you are saying...it is her? My contacts haven't been able to verify even gender yet so that's news to me.
No further word on the storage unit. My dogs won't go out there because it's "too dangerous" if she's being held. I will go back out there this weekend.
I'm sorry, I got an "official" case, Marcus Wolfe, and have been working night and day on that. Still physically searching for Maricela, tho, she has my heart.

Mistivon if your dogs won't go there because it's too dangerous if she's being held, could surveillance be done to at least verify who's really coming and going from that unit if you truly believe this is a credible lead?

Most likely the units have been cleared out by now, and all video surveillance erased or taped over.

Besides the fact that it's been spoken about on a searchable forum .
Let's be real here, if it was at all a credible lead then I doubt it would be being spoken about on here in a public forum.
Same goes for any social media, if anyone was really" talking business" it would be done in private, not out in the open for all to see.

Sadly until a body turns up to be Maricela, I don't know what else can be done here.
Maybe the family will release the rest of their version of the story ( whatever that may be this week) in order to give people new areas to search?
