COSTA MESA - A Costa Mesa man accused of killing and dismembering his neighbor at a military base in Los Alamitos and then killing the victim's girlfriend was charged with murder today and could face the death penalty if convicted.

Daniel Patrick Wozniak, 26, was being held without bail in connection with the slayings of Samuel Eliezer Herr, 26, of Costa Mesa, and Juri Julie Kibuishi, 23, of Irvine, Lt. Bryan Glass said.

Wozniak was charged with two felony counts of special-circumstances murder with sentencing enhancements for multiple murders, murder for financial gain and the personal discharge of a firearm causing death, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office. The special circumstances make him eligible for the death penalty.

The police have been searching El Dorado Park, specifically the Nature Center, which is a favorite spot for school field trips. Just a few minutes ago it was reported that a human hand and arm were found in the park. They are still looking for the head of the victim.

I live just a few miles from this park. Just awful news...

Oh my gosh... we were there just a few weeks ago with our kids. We hike the nature center ALL THE TIME. Unbelievable. We visit the animal shelter there too- its where we adopted one of our bunnies from. I can't believe it and hope no children were around to witness any of it.

He said his friends would describe him as "deceitful, dishonest, egotistical and untrustworthy". Then he goes all into the dog eat dog world and doing for yourself.

LOS ANGELES — A stage actor shot, beheaded and dismembered his neighbor in a military base theater, then killed the victim's friend after using the dead man's cell phone to lure her to his apartment, police said Friday.

Daniel Wozniak, 26, of Costa Mesa, was charged with two counts of murder Friday, the same day he was supposed to get married to fiancee Rachel Buffet in a Long Beach park, said Costa Mesa police Detective Sgt. Ed Everett.

Wozniak's father, Daryl Wozniak, said his son was in a coma after trying to commit suicide. Everett said the younger Wozniak was being treated at Western Medical Center, though he did not describe his condition.

Daniel Wozniak, who recently starred in the lead role as Guido Contini in the musical "Nine" at the Hunger Artists Theatre Company in Fullerton, is accused of dismembering the body of Samuel Herr, 26, on May 21, leaving his torso at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base and scattering the limbs and head in another Long Beach park.

Daniel Wozniak is also accused of shooting Juri Kibuishi, 23, after summoning her with a text message on Herr's phone, then removing her clothes to fake a sexual assault. Her body was found May 22 by Herr's father.

The motive appears to be financial, police said.

did you notice his only friend is 'super duper dapper dan'? - that profile is private and was last logged into May 22 with mood set as 'busy', whereas his real profile was last logged into Dec. 6

Well, on Dan's girlfriend's brother's facebook, (NB who was arrested as an accessory after the fact), there is a comment on May 22 from one of his friends that is quite interesting.

NB posts something about deleting people and this person says NB should delete Dan for having his truck too long last night.

Um, what was Dan doing with NB's truck the night of the murders and why didn't he bring it back on time?

Should something like this be reported to LE or am I completely off base here?

I don't understand this at all. These people are my kind of people. They're actors and artists and poets and having fun and loving life. They're engaged and working and celebrating life with each other. It's almost like because I can relate to their lifestyles that it makes it more difficult to understand this crime. And from what I have read in comments, there is a group of friends in total shock right now.

Kinda strange that a son would stop contact with a family if there were no problems:
