COSTA MESA - A Costa Mesa man accused of killing and dismembering his neighbor at a military base in Los Alamitos and then killing the victim's girlfriend was charged with murder today and could face the death penalty if convicted.
Daniel Patrick Wozniak, 26, was being held without bail in connection with the slayings of Samuel Eliezer Herr, 26, of Costa Mesa, and Juri Julie Kibuishi, 23, of Irvine, Lt. Bryan Glass said.
Wozniak was charged with two felony counts of special-circumstances murder with sentencing enhancements for multiple murders, murder for financial gain and the personal discharge of a firearm causing death, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office. The special circumstances make him eligible for the death penalty.
