'One of the five people shot outside a Rexdale high school late Sunday night has died in hospital, Toronto police confirm.

Police said that the shots rang out in the parking lot of North Albion Collegiate Institute, located near Kipling Avenue and Mount Olive Drive, shortly before 11 p.m.

In a post on social media on Sunday night, police confirmed that five people had been shot at the scene and one of the victims, a man in his 50s, suffered critical injuries. The other four victims were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

On Monday morning, investigators confirmed that one of the victims died of their injuries and the homicide unit is now investigating.'

''Toronto District School Board (TDSB) said North Albion Collegiate Institute and the on-site daycare will be closed on Monday due to the police investigation.

Mount Olive Drive is closed from Kipling Avenue to Silverstone Drive.''
'Anyone with more information has been asked to reach out to police at 416-808-2300.'

''Police said sometime around 11 p.m., two suspects in a newer-model, black or blue pickup truck pulled up to the parking lot of North Albion Collegiate Institute, near Kipling Avenue and Mount Olive Drive, got out of their vehicle, and fired up to 50 shots at a group of 15 to 20 men.''

''During a news conference on Monday morning, Det.-Sgt. Phillip Campbell told reporters that one of the surviving victims suffered “serious, life-altering” injuries, while the other three are being treated for gunshot wounds.
Police have not publicly identified the man who died.
He has, however, been identified by family as 61-year-old Delroy George Parks.''

''TEEN ARRESTED DURING STOLEN VEHICLE INVESTIGATION

The teen, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was taken into custody following a stolen vehicle investigation a few hours after the shooting on June 3, police said.

Campbell said that the youth, whom police believe to be one of the suspects involved in the mass shooting earlier that day, was fleeing from the vehicle at the time of his arrest.

The boy has now been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and seven counts of attempted murder.''
