''A couple out for a walk in a remote area of B.C.'s South Okanagan region this week discovered the bodies of two people that investigators now believe were the victims of a "targeted incident."

The bodies were found Monday morning in the area of Naramata Creek Forest Service Road, and Penticton RCMP called in forensics experts to help investigate, according to a police press release.

"Although we are still in the very preliminary stages of this investigation, early findings suggest that this was a targeted incident. At this time there is nothing to indicate a greater general risk to public safety," Penticton RCMP Supt. Brian Hunter said in the release.

On Wednesday, Penticton RCMP announced it has identified one of the bodies, but is still working to confirm the identify of the second individual.

A vehicle was also found near the area, which has since been seized and is now part of the investigation. ''

''Autopsy planned as RCMP identify one of two bodies found Monday near Penticton
An update from the RCMP’s Southeast District major crime unit says the second person has not yet been named but identification work continues.''

“While officers wait for the results of the forensic autopsy we are asking that anyone who may have seen something unusual or odd to contact us,” O’Donaghey says in the statement.

He says investigators will determine if any of the tips, including details about the unidentified hikers, is important to the file.''

''Dawn March, the brothers’ stepmother, told KTW by email: “Carlo and Erick Fryer were beloved family members. Erick was kind, generous, athletic and the first person to help his family and friends. He was the big brother that all his siblings wanted to hang out with. He was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and solid friend. Carlo was sweet, gentle and an all-star ball player. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and solid friend.''

Sorry, I have no clue how to post a link from iPad. I tried

But yesterday, June 10, Vancouver Sun and others reported a development in this case. Easy to find if someone would like to post a link so I don't sound so random.
Thanks for the heads up!.. rbbm.
Woman’s body found while police were investigating double homicide of Kamloops brothers
''The RCMP is investigating after a woman’s body was found on Wednesday, June 9, at a home in Naramata.

It is the third homicide investigation in Naramata in the last month after the bodies of brothers Carlo and Erick Fryer of Kamloops were discovered on May 10 in a remote location in the Naramata Creek area.''

''Police discovered the woman’s body at a home in the 3900-block of 3 Street in Naramata just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday while investigating the murders of the Fryer brothers.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said officers found the home was insecure, but no one answered the door, so they entered the residence to ensure the well-being of the occupants. Once inside, the body of an adult woman was discovered. Shoihet said her death is being investigated as a homicide.''

''Police believe the woman’s death and the deaths of Carlo and Erick Fryer to be targeted acts related to drug and gang activities.''

Police identify woman whose death may be connected to murder of Kamloops brothers
''The body of Kathleen Richardson was found in a home in Naramata on June 9. Mounties have said they believe the death of Richardson is connected to the deaths of Kamloops brothers Erick and Carlo Fryer, whose bodies were discovered on May 10 in a remote location in the Naramata Creek area.''

“We are releasing Kathleen’s name in order to help further the ongoing investigation,” BC RCMP spokesperson Dawn Roberts said. ““Investigators want to speak to anyone who had dealings with Kathleen in the days before her death. Understanding her movements or activities will help continue to move this investigation forward.”

In addition, police are also asking for any dash-cam video from anyone who was driving in the Naramata area from Monday, June 6, through Wednesday, June 9.''

Wondering if it is fine to continue posts concerning Kathleen R. in this thread, should a new one be started, or- if proven related to the deaths of the two brothers, maybe just add KR's name to this thread heading?

Hairstylist ID'd as latest Naramata homicide victim
''A well-liked hairstylist has been identified as victim of a homicide earlier this week in Naramata, but it’s still unclear how her death is connected to two other recent slayings in the community.
Mounties confirmed Friday the victim is 57-year-old Kathleen Richardson, who operated a hair salon in her home at 3940 3rd St., where her lifeless body was discovered by police Wednesday.''

''A small memorial to Richardson, who also served as a volunteer member of the Naramata Fire Rescue Service, has taken shape outside her home, which was still behind police tape Friday afternoon as investigators searched for forensic evidence.

Neighbours, who spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear for their safety, said Richardson, who had an adult son, lived alone and was well-known for her kind and generous nature.''

Welcome to Ws Brunn_01, thanks for the update!

"Two men, one of them the son of another recent homicide victim, have been charged in relation to the double murder of Kamloops brothers Carlos and Erick Fryer, whose bodies were discovered in a remote area near Naramata in May.

The BC Prosecution Service approved first degree murder charges against 35-year-old Anthony Graham of Penticton and 32-year-old Wade Cudmore of Naramata on Friday.''
''Cudmore’s mother, Kathy Richardson, was found dead in her home June 9 by RCMP after they attended her property as a part of the Fryer brothers' murder investigation.

“Their homicides are believed to be connected to gang and drug activities, with alleged criminal activities not limited to Naramata but other areas of BC including Northern BC and the Lower Mainland,” Acting Officer-In-Charge, Supt. Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the BC RCMP Major Crime Section said in a news release.

“We are concerned that Anthony is a target and those associated to him, or found in his proximity are also at risk. Anthony, if you see or hear this message, I am asking you to turn yourself into the nearest police station.”

Naramata homicide victim not involved with drugs or gangs, friends say
“They said the hard-working single mom and hairdresser was in no way connected to the drug trade or gangs.

“She was a mamma-bear who wanted to get her kid out of hot water,” said one friend, who declined to give his name out of fear of reprisal.

They said Richardson’s adult son was involved with drugs and Richardson tried desperately to help him….”

wow that's surprising
so I wonder if he killed his mom or maybe the brothers did and he sought revenge on them
or did drug kingpins kill the brothers and his mom and he took off scared he was next

The Fryer brothers were found deceased May 10 and Kathy Richardson wasn't found until June 9, so unless she had been deceased since May (nothing to indicate that), she would not have been killed by the Fryer brothers.

RCMP addressing an "oversight" about listing missing Anthony Graham without mentioning he is wanted for murder:

11/5/2021
RCMP in northern British Columbia are apologizing for what they call an “oversight” after failing to note that a missing man was also wanted for first-degree murder.

Earlier this week, the Prince George RCMP detachment issued a notice to the public about missing man Anthony James Graham.

The advisory sent to media on Thursday describes Graham as white, 6′ and about 190 pounds, with blue eyes and light brown hair.

It says Graham was last seen by friends in Prince George in late May, and that the detachment opened its missing persons investigation the next month.

It also says Graham has connections to B.C.’s Okanagan, suggesting he may have travelled to other parts of the province.

What it doesn’t say, however, is that Graham is wanted in a double homicide case, and that he’s considered armed and dangerous.

‘An oversight’ to not mention Graham wanted in Penticton double murder: RCMP - Keremeos Review
>
27093621_web1_211110-PWN-RCMPSayWhoops_1.jpeg

Prince George RCMP put out a request to the public to help find missing person Anthony Graham and failed to mention he was wanted in a double murder in Penticton. The RCMP have since said that was an oversight that they hope doesn’t happen again. (RCMP handout)

''Cudmore, who is the son of Naramata murder victim Kathy Richardson, had been arrested and remains in custody. Graham remained at large, according to police.

At the time, Supt. Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the BC RCMP Major Crime Section said Graham is a target and those associated with him, or found in his proximity are also at risk.

“He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him do not approach and immediately call 911,” said police at the time.''

Mounties call failure to mention missing B.C. man is wanted in double homicide an 'oversight'
''Mounties across B.C. are still looking for Graham, and ask anyone with information to call local police, 911 or Crime Stoppers.

The charges against Graham and Cudmore have not been proven in court.''

''SURREY, B.C. - Two men have been charged with first-degree murder of a British Columbia woman in a case that police say represents a prime example of gang violence spreading across the province.

Twenty-three-year-old Ekene Anigbo of Vancouver and 23-year-old Jalen Falk of Burnaby, B.C., have both been charged in the death of Kathleen Richardson in Naramata, B.C., in June of 2021.

Richardson was found dead in her home by police who were following up on an investigation into the double homicide of brothers Erick and Carlos Fryer the month before.

Richardson’s son, Wade Cudmore, would go on to be charged with first-degree murder in the brothers’ deaths.

A second man accused in the Fryer brothers’ deaths has not been found by police.

At a news conference Monday, RCMP say several others were identified and arrested as co-conspirators in the homicides and all have been released without charges.''

''RCMP have confirmed murder charges were laid against two Lower Mainland gang-affiliated men in the 2021 slaying of beloved Naramata woman Kathy Richardson, which local police hope will help bring healing to her family.''

''Richardson, 57, was the mother of Wade Cudmore, one of two men charged with the homicide of Kamloops brothers Carlo and Erick Fryer, whose bodies were found in a remote area near Naramata in May 2021.

Cudmore is in custody awaiting trial, which has now been set for June 3, 2024. He was in Kelowna Friday seeking release on bail, but the judge pushed his decision to early May.''
''Cudmore's co-accused, 35-year-old Anthony Graham of Penticton, remains at large.

Cudmore's trial scheduled to begin tomorrow
One of the men alleged to have committed a double murder in Naramata has spent the last month and a half in a Vancouver courtroom in preparation for his first-degree murder trial which is set to begin on June 3.

Wade Cudmore is co-accused in a double-murder of brothers Carlo and Erick Fryer, which took place in Naramata in May 2021.

Cudmore is co-accused alongside a man named Anthony Graham, whose location is currently unknown.

On May 23, Cudmore appeared in person in the Vancouver Supreme Courtroom for the 42 day of what is scheduled to be a 45-day voir dire.

This is shocking goings-on for wee little Naramata.

It seems Cudmore's mother's murder was tied to these deaths, IMO either in retaliation, or to keep her from talking. But she seems to have had nothing to do with any criminality.

I don't see a thread for her. Do people think we should create a separate one, or include her name in this thread?

Also, I think the thread title should be updated to include the men's identities.

@dotr or anyone else, would you agree?
