Parents of Riverdale boy accused of animal cruelty ask for compassion

The parents of a 16-year-old boy accused of animal cruelty say they are taking the allegations against their son "seriously."

“The tracking collar of one cat was found on a garage roof yesterday and the cat was found dead under the shed in the kid’s backyard ….,” the Redditor alleged.

this 16 year old needs to be charged as an adult
there is no treatment IMO that will help
IMO he will reoffend and probably has a long list of tortured and murdered animals in his past
I think he will move onto humans if he hasn't already

The parents letter pisses me off. I do hope they are taking this seriously but it seems like they are blaming people for being upset by this. If someone brutalized my cat I’d be devastated. The poor wild animals he has tortured did not deserve this.

This kid needs to be in a mental health institution. We do have several in Ontario that could take him.

I agree no one should be posting his identity and certainly not their home address but the parents can't mute public speculation. They can't make this fit their narrative of a 'home of love'. The public are understandably outraged and fearful. What else has he done??
