''On July 11, 2024, an elderly woman attended a financial institution located at the Kingston Center. The woman proceeded to use the ATM in the front vestibule.

While using the ATM, two suspects were observed attempting to view the woman’s PIN. The suspects were ultimately successful in obtaining the PIN. The suspects were then observed attempting to view the PIN being entered by an elderly male using another ATM in the vestibule.

The woman then left the bank where she was presumably followed by the suspects. The woman proceeded to a nearby grocery store before returning to her residence. Sometime between leaving the financial institution and returning home, the woman’s wallet was stolen.

The suspects then returned to the same financial institution and used the woman’s debit card to withdraw a large sum of money. The suspects then made additional charges on other debit and credit cards belonging to the woman, resulting in a significant loss.

The suspects are described as a middle-aged female with brown hair in a bun wearing a black and white three-quarter length sweater, a black t-shirt and blue jeans. The female suspect also has a tattoo on her lower right forearm.

The female suspect was accompanied by a middle-aged male suspect with a beard wearing a dark ball cap, dark t-shirt, grey sweatpants with black and grey running shoes.

Anyone who knows the identity of either suspect or has any information in relation to this incident is asked to please contact Cst. Josh Conner at 613-549-4660 ext. 6341 or via email at jconner@kingstonpolice.ca''

''Toronto Police are trying to identify two suspects after several elderly people were targeted while withdrawing cash from Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).
Investigators say the scam has been taking place across the Greater Toronto Area.

It starts with the suspects “shoulder surfing” the victims while they are withdrawing cash, obtaining their PINs.
“The suspects then distract the victim by various means, for example, by dropping something nearby, by engaging the victim in conversation and/or other means,” a police release explains.

While the person is distracted, the suspects grab their debit card from the ATM and immediately go to another machine to withdraw funds.''
