Police investigate death of woman found lying on Bowmanville street

''A passing motorist found the woman in the intersection of Bowmanville Avenue and Stevens Road at about 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, Durham police said. The woman, who had sustained severe injuries, was treated at the scene by first responders, then taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The roadway was closed for several hours as a collision reconstruction unit investigated.
Police are now trying to determine how the woman, who has not been identified, came to be in the roadway and are seeking information about her activities earlier in the evening. She was wearing a distinctive teal, orange and white hooded jacket bearing the Miami Dolphins logo, police said.
