HUNTER: How many did Bruce McArthur really kill?
mcarthur-e1582046590344.jpg

This murder victim, found in 1989, has the earmarks of Bruce McArthur victims. OPP

''In McArthur’s stomping grounds where he peddled socks for years, just two men fit the bill, including a confirmed homicide victim.

On Oct. 21, 1989, a man’s body was found in an isolated area near Napanee in eastern Ontario, north of Hwy. 401.

The South Asian victim had been gagged and his hands were bound. He had been strangled to death.

He was between 35 and 55-years-old with a slight build.
All Bruce McArthur markers.

In a bitter twist, the victim wore and “evil eye” pendant on a gold chain around his neck. It failed spectacularly in warding off evil.''

It seems incongruent that he would be well dressed, with wool pants and a Pierre Cardin shirt, plus a heavy gold chain, and then have the evil eye attached with a ridiculous safety pin. Could the murderer have attached the evil eye as some kind of sick joke?

(1) OPP hope facial reconstruction can help identify human remains from late 80s - Kingston | Globalnews.ca
''Ontario Provincial Police have released photos they hope will spark someone’s memory toward solving a more than 30-year-old cold case.

70c8fc80

The remains of a man, aged 35 to 55, were first discovered on Oct. 21, 1989, in the north ditch of County Road 14 in Stone Mills Township, near the village of Enterprise, Ont.

“He was wearing an ‘evil eye’ pendant attached to a gold chain by a safety pin,” an OPP news release stated.

Police say they believe the body had been there for approximately two weeks before it was found.''

''Analysis of the remains suggests the man was South Asian, with black hair, balding on top with very little around the temple.
He was wearing a white short-sleeved ‘Pierre Cardin’ dress shirt, a red and blue striped heavy pullover, a ‘Hunt Club’ sweater with a red, black and grey diamond pattern''

''Police say all investigative efforts so far have not been successful in identifying the man.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP missing persons hotline at 1-877-934-6363. A $50,000 reward will be made available to those who provide information that leads to an arrest and conviction.''

Who is "Napanee John Doe": The unidentified murder victim and the theory linking his death to an Ontario serial killer (kingstonist.com)
In the fall of 1989, the body of a South Asian man was found in the ditch alongside County Road 14, just outside Enterprise, Ontario. He was bound and gagged, and police determined that his body had been abandoned at the roadside some two weeks before he was discovered. But perhaps most important – and the thing still nagging detectives over 30 years later – is the fact that he was someone’s son, someone’s friend, someone’s coworker. He was someone, and yet his identity in death remains unknown.

For those police officers who have toiled with the case, for many local residents who have wondered about it since, and for the scores of internet sleuths who have theorized that the man could have been a victim of serial killer Bruce McArthur, the hope is that new modelling by an OPP reconstruction artist will light a fire under the cold case and lead to more information answering the primary question: who is “Napanee John Doe”?
