Nia Eastman, 7, believed to have been taken by Adam Jay Eastman, 45

A vehicle believed to be operated by her father was located on a rural property east of Smeaton near Snowden.

I see lots of comments on SM complaining about AAs when a parent is involved. I wish they had a clue as to how many parents wind up killing the children involved. I'm glad they are taken seriously here.

...One thing that might be a help is the current unseasonably mild weather in Saskatchewan. It's believed Adam Eastman had a family dog with him earlier, but there's no further information about that, LeBlanc said.

Hopefully she is, at the very least, with the family dog....

What an adorable little one. She reminds me of a little Jessica Ridgeway.

Positive thoughts that Nia and the dog are found safe.

Not sounding good, though.

As Dockins said, if people only knew that parental abductions can be dangerous as well. We've seen it here so many times...

Nia Eastman is described as Caucasian, around four feet tall and 50 pounds, with blonde shoulder-length hair. RCMP in a news release issued Thursday at 4:15 a.m. said she was last seen wearing pink eye glasses, a purple long-sleeved shirt with butterflies, a pink skirt and purple leggings with silver trim at the bottom.

ETA less than a day before he and Nia disappeared he changed his Facebook cover to one that reads: “Leave me alone I’ve had enough.”

Him having killed himself makes me fear for this adorable angel.

I hope she and the dog are alive somewhere and found ASAP!!

“He was having mental issues. Him and his wife split up. It wasn’t a good situation,” she said.


The woman said Eastman had worked at a Co-op for a while, but was currently unemployed.
