Case #: 20201065065

''The Toronto Police service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a deceased woman.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at approximately 1:20 a.m. a deceased woman was located in the Dundas Street West and Crawford Street area.

Ontario Pathologist’s office, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, undertook to create an artist’s rendition of the woman in the hopes that someone might recognize her and bring some resolution for her family and the investigation.
Images have been released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, online on our Facebook Leave a Tip page, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637). Download the free Crime Stoppers Mobile App on iTunes or Google Play.''

The state of the shirt... doesn't leave much room to wonder what happened.

Noted in the link, the woman was found with a sleeping bag. Possibly homeless? Tabi and Northern Reflections are brands that are usually worn by "older" women (over 50). They're also not cheap clothes when bought new and Tabi is no longer in business.

No shoes? No approximate height, hair or eye colour? Difficult to look for any matches in missing persons without a proper physical description.

Highly unlikely but based off just the sketch:

Thank you for doing that. It's a long shot but they look really similar.

Height/eye/hair color would be helpful. Maybe LE already ruled out/cross referenced any MP cases as a possibility.

They haven't mentioned foul play and yet... How common is it for a homeless person to die naturally and be found with only a sleeping bag? I realize being homeless means certain things but many people in this circumstance have their whole lives on their back. To be found in these circumstances with nothing but the clothes your wearing & a sleeping bag is odd, especially for a woman.

There's a park at the intersection of Dundas and Crawford and it looks like local businesses along the streets in the area. Hopefully security cameras caught something.

Toronto police seeking public’s help in identifying woman found dead in Trinity Bellwoods Park
June 24 2020 rbbm.
''She was found lying on a dark blue sleeping bag, wearing a pair of black cargo pants and a green striped shirt, she said.

“The female’s lifestyle circumstances are unknown at this time. She may have been recently transient from another city. Another possible scenario could be that she was confused, disoriented, thus leaving her home going unnoticed,” Vruna said.

People in the area who know of a neighbour who lives alone should check in with police if they match her description, she said. They have yet to match her appearance with any reports of missing people.''

Is there still no description of height/hair/eye colour? It's so vague, there's hardly anything for anyone to make a match with.

Hopefully they find out who she is. Sad.

Police still trying to ID woman found dead in Trinity Bellwoods Park
''Det.Mary Vruna says that officers were dispatched to the west-end park at around 1:20 a.m. on June 10 after a passerby noticed the woman on a sleeping bag in a grassy area near Dundas and Shaw streets.

Vruna says that the woman was not breathing at the time and was ultimately pronounced dead after paramedics made several unsuccessful attempts to revive her.

A cause of death has not been provided, though Vruna said that it is not believed to be suspicious.''

Vruna said that police aren’t sure about the woman’s circumstances at this point but do know that the park was busy in the days leading up to her death, particularly on the weekend prior when thousands of people packed its lawn in contravention of physical distancing guidelines.

She said that police want to speak with anyone who may have seen her in and around the park while their memories “are still fresh.”

“We are not providing any further descriptions of the female as we want people to look solely at the images and avoid any tunnel vision and end up dismissing someone because they feel as though they may not have the right descriptive features such as age, height and weight,” she said.''

''She said that they have also not been able to identify the woman through fingerprints.''

?! Maybe I just don't understand MP & UID cases.

Who wanders away from home disoriented but brings a sleeping bag? Apologies for my lack of understanding, just perplexing.

Here are my two throws of the dice:

Linda Normandin
Canada's Missing | Case details

Vague resemblance to the drawing. Yes i'm aware there is a time difference but if she was last seen leaving a shelter then she was likely a transient and could easily make herself disappear elsewhere for a number of years

Rebecca Dorman
Canada's Missing | Case details

Definite resemblance in my eyes and closer date wise. Unfortunately the circumstances of her disappearance don't look too promising...

Really without a height or estimated age or anything it's quite hard to go sleuthing on this one!

Thanks for the suggestions, of the two the second might be more likely because the first mispers. had tattoos and i think LE would have mentioned if the uid female had some, imo.

The Toronto Police Service continues to seek the public’s assistance in identifying a deceased woman.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at approximately 1:20 a.m. the body of a woman was located in the Dundas Street West and Crawford Street area.

That sleeping bag looks like it hasn't been used much... strikes me as really odd. Doesn't sound like she is suspected to be homeless, more suspected to have wandered away from somewhere. How is no one missing this woman? Where did she come from?

UID female description..
Between the ages of 27-49
5'1''-5'4''
Approx 108 pounds
Teeth in good condition
Brown and grey, wavy long hair.
