Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a 36-year-old woman missing from Little Burgundy in the Sud-Ouest borough.

Tricia Boisvert was last seen leaving her home, and likely driving away in her car, around 7 p.m. Friday evening.

The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are suspicious, which is why police are urgently seeking to find her.

Boisvert is described as a white woman who is 5 feet 8 (1.74 metres) and weighs 140 pounds (64 kilograms). She has long brown hair.

Her car is a black 2005 Pontiac G6, with Quebec licence plate 156-XQG.

She frequents the Ottawa area and could potentially be found there.

Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or Info-Crime at 514-393-1133. All calls are anonymous and confidential.

Article from Le Journal de Montreal (updated this morning Jan 21st): http://www.journaldemontreal.com/2014/01/20/une-femme-enlevee-a-montreal

The article (in French) says that Tricia's friend, Mona Daoud, spoke with Tricia on Thursday night. Tricia told Mona that Philip, an Ottawa acquaintance, was coming to town and that there could be problems. Philip may have been with another man who was white, tall, and had a shaved head.

Very strange disappearance. On the Find Tricia Boisvert FB page they are saying that there were signs of forced entry into her apartment. The article linked above says that this Philip Steele person came to visit Tricia in Montreal and she feared that there would be big trouble happening. Philip called an ex- girlfriend the day after Tricia's disappearance and simply said " I'm sorry" before hanging up. He also hasn't been seen since.

"They say it’s unheard of Boisvert to not call, text, or respond to online messages.

Although it was no secret Boisvert led “a pretty fast lifestyle,” friends said she was one of the kindest people they had ever met.

“She was a good girl. She was an amazing friend. She had the best laugh in the world,” said another friend. “I can’t believe someone would do this.”

Another good friend of Boisvert’s said she hasn’t slept since she heard the news.

“We’re hoping for the best,” said the longtime friend. “She’s close to a lot of us.”

Originally from Alberta, Boisvert has a sister on the West Coast".

Investigators with the Montreal and Gatineau police are searching for a Gatineau man in connection with the disappearance of 36-year-old Tricia Boisvert.

Police say they believe Philippe Steele Morin was the last person to see Boisvert, who has been missing since Friday evening.

Gatineau police say Morin has been wanted since July 16 on charges related to conjugal violence, as well as car theft and mischief.

"They consider Philippe Steele-Morin to be an important witness, and have reason to believe he may have been the last person to have seen Boisvert the night she disappeared.

Steele-Morin is a father of two, and police believe he might be in the Outaouais region.

Other police forces, including the SQ and the Gatineau police force, are involved in the search"

Oh, I hope they find her! This makes me think of poor Catherine Todd. :(

Is PS-M a suspect, or just wanted for questioning? A fb I found for him was just created may of 2012. Pretty inactive.

Oooh my! This is awful. She knew there was trouble coming! What on earth prevented her from heading directly to the women's shelter?

Article from Canoe (in French): http://fr.canoe.ca/infos/societe/archives/2014/01/20140121-200246.html

There is a photo of the suspected abduction location (her apartment building) at 2280 Notre Dame West in Montreal. Tricia's brother-in-law, Scott Papousek, says that Philip Steele contacted Tricia because he needed to get out of Ontario, as Philip was wanted by police. Papousek says that he doesn't think Philip would intentionally harm Tricia.
