Unease at York University after woman stabbed near campus
''York University students are feeling uneasy after a woman was critically injured in a stabbing along a pathway just steps from the campus in North York late Wednesday.

And knowing the attacker is still on the loose has area residents, who regularly use the path to walk to and from school, especially unnerved.''

''Toronto Police say the stabbing victim — a 23-year-old woman — was walking on the path when she was attacked just after 10 p.m.

“A man assaulted her, knocking her to the ground and dragging her a short distance,” Const. Caroline de Kloet said.

She said the victim suffered life-threatening stab wound and was rushed to a trauma centre''.

I'm sure she isn't his first victim. He would've been obsessed with someone else before latching into her. Maybe a previous victim will recognize his description and be able to help identify him for police.

I’m confused. The same suspect is accused of shooting and stabbing two women on the same day? One victim is named Rachel and the other victim is Angelin.

‘I CAN SEE MY BLOOD’: York U woman shot, stabbed, now fears deportation
''Rachel Albert has two fresh scars on both sides of her neck, extending from her nape to collarbones, from the knife wounds.

Inside her brain are fragments of a bullet that pierced her skull. Those will stay there forever.

This is the physical damage an unprovoked, random violent attack in January has left the 23-year-old York University student with. The emotional toll, on top of it, is another story.''

York University student Rachel Albert, 23, was shot and stabbed steps from her home on Jan. 22.
''Rachel, who was three months away from graduating from her supply chain management course, was completing assignments with friends in the university’s library until around 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 22. She left alone and began the short walk across the parking lot and through the walkway that runs north off Assiniboine Rd. at Leith Ave. — northwest of Keele St. and Finch Ave. W. when a man shot and stabbed her.''

“She doesn’t remember anything that happened that night. The info I have comes from CCTV,” said Rebecca, 25, a doctor in Chennai, India.

“He shot her and he also slashed both sides of her neck. That injured all her vessels.”

''Police describe the attacker, who fled the area on foot, as an Asian man in his 20s, about 5-foot-11, 170 to 190 pounds, wearing “stylish” glasses and a black puffy jacket.

“We are still actively investigating the case, however we have not identified a suspect at this time. We would again appeal to the community for any information or assistance they have regarding this case,” said Toronto Police Det. Peter Hart.''
