ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Police are investigating a bizarre traffic accident in St. Petersburg.
Police said an elderly man who was on his way to a McDonald's restaurant struck and killed a pedestrian and kept driving, even though the dead man's body was stuck on the roof of the car. The dead man's leg was severed in the accident and was left behind at the scene.
The 94-year-old man then drove to the tollbooths on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. When he stopped, a witness said the body slid off the roof, through a hole in the windshield, and into the front seat. The witness called 911.
The driver did say that he had noticed blood dripping through the hole in the windshield as he drove several miles.
