Cases That Haunt You

I can't shake the Maura Murray and Jameson family cases :(

Maura Murray is also a case that baffles me because there are so many probable theories from abduction, risk of exposure (disoriented?), left of own accord, etc.
And the thought of her poor father going to those woods all the time, still searching for her year after year is just heartbreaking!

Related bodies in barrels-do tell? Also with Randy, how is it that his girlfriend is a missing person when they know she fled with him?

Related bodies in barrels - This probably refers to the unidentified bodies of a woman and one female child discovered in a 55-gallon drum in NH in 1985. (Doe Network Case #799UFNH and #800UFNH). In 2000, another 55-gallon drum was discovered only 100 yards from where the first drum was found, and it contained two female children. (Doe Network Case #801UFNH and #802UFNH). All are believed to be related and all had been dead the same amount of time. It's hard to imagine the second drum wasn't located in 1985.

Thank you Old Gray Mare for answering for me....I haven't looked at this thread for months. Now THATS one hell of a mystery!:coldcase:

This case has a thread on Websleuths: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92326&highlight=keyton

Hard to understand how these three people can just disappear, especially since their physical descriptions should make them easy to identify. Mr. Keyton was a WWI vet, and had lost his left leg during his service. His two passengers (sisters) are both listed on the Doe Network as being 5' tall, both weighing 200 pounds, both no teeth.

Mr. Keyton returned from the war "shell shocked". The equivalent of PTSD in today's terms. He had a guardian appointed by the county government. He was a terrible driver and had lost his license. He continued to drive and stayed on the back roads of the area.

I've read that Mr. Keyton had relatives in KY and in OH. I wonder if the few searches that were launched focused only on KY. Who knows - maybe he got confused and just headed in the wrong direction. The back roads between VA/KY/OH are numerous. I wonder if they drove off the road, down over a hill, and have been there since.

All the missing and murdered women and girls in the Pacific NW in the 80s and 90s are always stuck in my head. Makes me so sad that such monsters have lived and killed in these two beautiful states (Washington and Oregon)

Sky Metalwala
Amy Bradley
Anna Christian Walters
Madeline Mccann

I want to add John and Elizabeth Calvert who disappeared in Hilton Head, SC in 2008 to the list.

There are so many cases here....

I think for me it is Jennifer Odom because she was found in the town I moved into. Michelle Parker, where could she be? Sandra Lemire another woman just gone. Haliey Cummings, never found, no one arrested. The kids are the worst ones.

Demetra,
I'm not sure if Megan has a thread on here, but there is another case in Texas that I know of that are very similar to Megan's. Not only that, but this girl and Megan but had similar characterisitics:
Missing 1989 Jenna Ray Robbins-vanished outside of her friend's front yard while the girls were playing:
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/robbins_jenna.html
Also, On March 26, 1999, 6 yr old Opal Jennings was abducted from her grandmother's yard while playing with friends in Saginaw, Texas. Her killer was Richard "Ricky" Franks. Opal also has similar physical characteristics to Megan and Jenna. All were dark haired little girls taken while playing outside when adults weren't around in the 90s in Texas. Could Jenna and Megan be connected to Ricky Franks? Just a thought!

Two more cases that haunt me:
Amy Pagnac, who vanished from her father's vehicle while stopped at a gas station in Osseo, MN.
Sharon Rose Sons, who supposedly vanished while on her way to the laundromat, but it looks like they're looking into the boyfriend, who was the last person to see her alive.

Shaniya's case haunts me. I see that sweet baby in the pic the security camera caught with the monster that killed her. It makes me sick.

Police reopen 1978 murder of teen who was found naked, beaten, strangled and mutilated on beach

PUBLISHED: 13:29 EST, 14 February 2013 | UPDATED: 13:44 EST, 14 February 2013

Police have ordered new DNA tests in the cold-case probe of a teenager's brutal murder almost 35 years ago while she was camping on the beach with her boyfriend.

Investigators are revisiting evidence from the 1978 death of Barbara Nantais.
The 15-year-old was found naked, beaten and strangled near a lifeguard tower at Torrey Pines State Beach.

Police are also investigating the killing of another teenager on the same beach six years later.

Fourteen-year-old Claire Hough was also strangled on the beach. There are similarities in the cases, but police aren't sure whether they're linked.
Hough's breast was completely amputated and sand was also stuffed into her mouth.

I remember both of the cases your talking about, and yes the girls all had similar characteristics.Megan was my neighbor we lived in apartments i was upstairs and she was downstairs from me.The local LE still have a open investigation and mention her every now and again,i was terrified to turn a eye away from my children from that day on.I was a very young mom when that happened.

Sad stories indeed, I am surprise they did not get more exposure. Hopefully the investigation is active and fruitful!

Right now the case of Nancy Lynn Jason is haunting me.

Cases where people joined cults and then disappeared always haunt me. I start reading accounts from ex-cult-members about life inside the cult and how hard it was to get out and try to rebuild their lives.

It's just mind-blowing.

Way too many cases haunt me. That's what's so sad. I just can't imagine being the parent or relative of a missing loved one and not knowing where they are! I think the most painful cases for me are those people who by all accounts were really good loving people and when they leave you just wonder, how can a good person like that just vanish?

My List:

1.) Dermot Kelly
2.) Dennis Martin
3.) David Warner
4.) Roger Ellison
5.) Sam Todd
6.) Mark Wilson
7.) Perry Corlew
8.) Francis "Frank" Cantea
9.) Richard Griener
10) William "Billy" Jones
11.)The Sodder Family case
12.) Kathy Shea

Hello Odyssey,
It sounds like you have read up on many cases involving cults, have you heard of MN Blue Earth Jane Doe? She is thought to have possibly been in a cult because she was found with her hair oddly shaved off (even though the pic shows her with hair):
