Any bit of sanity or reasonable thought is very hard to hold onto in that kind of environment. Especially for someone so young.
----

I had to edit Misfit in order to isolate this key part of your recollection:
"reasonable thought is very hard to hold onto"

Now this is the crux of the matter: Will Casey be able to hold onto a reasonable manufactured thought pattern for court? Or will she get to the point of telling the truth?

You think a toilet 4" from the bed is the worst?? In jail you do not have your own undergarments. Yes that is right the panties are communal and you only get clean ones 2 or 3 times a week! But then again that is more than Caylee is getting.
Now that is gross and disgusting...certainly enough to keep me on the straight and narrow.:eek:

Where did you get this info that they have to use communal underwear? I don't think this is accurate. She could always choose to go commando too if it is true on the community panties.

I just had to laugh out loud really thinking about Casey having to wear "party panties", not quite like the "anything but clothes" parties she had been to in the past huh?

OK, as outlined in the People article: some inmates want to wash their own prison attire in the shower to keep it personal rather than wear the garments that could have been anyone's washed and dried.

Thats a good question, concentric, but I really cant even guess, since her mind works so far off the spectrum of what a "normal" person's does.

About the undergarments, one of my sisters was in a county jail for a few months a while back and her hubby had to put money in her acct for the commissary because she needed a bra. Otherwise you wear none. She was able to buy a few pairs of a sports type bra. They prob only come in small, med, or large, and I think she said they were only like $3-$4 a piece.

Anyone know how often the cells are cleaned? Thanks in advance...just curious...:)

Someone else has mentioned that the pic she had of Caylee was in a glass frame. That would not be allowed if she is on a suicide watch.

She could have taken it out of the frame. Where there's a will, there's a way. Nothing would keep me from a pic of my little man.

You just never know. According to Scott Peterson supporters, he has documents that prove he is not responsible for Laci's death, he's just sitting on death row, waiting for the right time to release them.

OT but: LOL!!!! Riiiiight. If they were that good he would have presented them the minute those handcuffs went on. Me thinks he's trying to get a good document forger.

Our daughter was convicted of embezzlement and sentenced to 45 days. She served her time in the local jail which also houses Federal inmates. It is a very well known national jail which has housed many high profile inmates.

She was issued one sports bra, one top, one bottom, one pair of socks, one piece of underwear and one pair of sneakers and slip-ons for the shower. One toothbrush/paste, the type you get for $1.00 at wallysworld for trips, a bar of non-description soap and one roll of toilet tissue. All others items for her personal use had to come from the commissary which had a minimum of $50.00 deposit, cash only. She received a check for the balance weeks after she was released.

She has medical issues that require daily meds. I had to bring down the actual bottle of medicine, the nurses took the info from the bottle, contacted the dr and then the jail issued her meds from their inventory. She was also charged for this. She also was on her period when she was booked. They do not have tampons. Female inmates are given pads.

Visitation was scheduled and happened in a room with plexiglas and phones. Extremely monitored as well. Out going phone calls had to be placed to a landline phone that had to be previously approved by the jail. Yes, they were also recorded as well as the visits.

She ended up only serving 36 days after they subtracted time for good behavior.

Hehe, yes thankfully. Learned my lesson for sure.

I was thinking about the pooing in front of everyone, I bet she holds it for days. Casey is the type of person that must look perfect at all times in front of others, look at the way she fidgets with her hair, clothing, etc non-stop to make sure she appears exactly 'right'. She wouldnt even let the one or two tears she did shed at the press conf. run past the corner of her eye for fear of her mascara running. I bet she is horrified to have to take a dump in public. (I do seem to recall her not having much probs peeing in front of everyone tho while drunk, re- the photo of her in the parking lot)

 pooping is bad enough but can imagine changing a tampon:eek:

Thank you for sharing your very personal story. It does help understand the situation. I hope your daughter has learned her lesson and doing much better these days! :)

I had a friend who served 6 months in the County jail women's section.... I still laugh thinking about this one she told me....

When they serve hotdogs they cut them up into bite size pieces...

Now ask yourself why??
Of course they are not going to serve Tampons!!!

I would need a second cell for storage of my anti-aging creams and moisturizers. :grandma: :Banane23:
They prob wouldn't let me have that...or I'd want at least a walk in closet. OOps wait, she lives in a walk in closet.

It is probably killin her that she cannot adequately beautify before "Public Appearances". It's probably viewed as a gig more than a Courtroom.....

Prolly!

Then, there is the problem of looking all dewy-faced for JB.

Constipation and simply just "not going" are two of the most common reasons women end up in the infirmary in their first months in prison. I'll tell ya, I'd be backed up like five O'clock traffic!

Maybe she can get care packages of huge American flags?

Call me cynical, but I kinda thunk that photo was for the presser, only.

This thread is so funny! Here I thought I was the only person with such a scatalogical imagination.

Question--do you think Casey can get Motrin if she gets menstrual cramps?
