On May 18, 2015, at approximately 10:15 a.m., 47-year-old John Jacoby was riding his bicycle (with a small trailer attached) north of the town of Windsor, Colorado, on WCR 15 when he was shot two times by an unknown assailant about two miles north of Main Street. He died at the scene shortly thereafter.
Jacoby was well known by locals and was often seen riding his bicycle around town. He worked as a part-time caretaker for the parks and recreation department and also as a bagger at King Soopers grocery.
It has been determined that this incident is related to another shooting which occurred in nearby Fort Collins, Colorado, on April 22, 2015. In that incident, two rounds were fired at a female driver at approximately 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of Harmony Road and the southbound I-25 on-ramp. The victim survived the attack after sustaining a gunshot wound to the neck.

Sometimes, I am sooooooooo WRONG. :blush: I remember posting that I thought the many busted windows were probably connected, EXCEPT FOR THE LADY AND THE CYCLIST----they were not likely connected. Of course, now it seems they are the ONLY two that are deemed connected.

I'm sorry, I don't get your logic. A trained sniper can't drive a car, or even maybe shoot from a car?

Yes, a trained sniper can shoot from a car I suppose, but what I meant was one would not have to be a trained sniper to make successful shots from a vehicle, as anyone, including an untrained shooter, could pull up close to the victim and pop off and land a shot (especially with an automatic). While an untrained sniper might be able to land these shots from a vehicle, he might not necessarily be able to land a shot on foot at a moving target from a far distance. Also, there might be a possible difference in the psychological aspect of a shooting between a untrained sicko just shooting people from his car vs a trained sniper would would be patient, and perhaps more calculating imo.

Interesting, jumping off your post, there IS heavy gang activity in Denver---but I wouldnt guess this to be a gang thing---unless an initiation or something...

I think this is some nutjob. I guess he'll strike in a couple months, maybe around FT Collins, Berthoud, Loveland, Longmont, Louisville. Jmo eta: maybe sooner but maybe longer! Jmo

This is a good thought and good point.

A couple ideas:

1. The crimes have escalated from rubber or pellets---perhaps those were even test shots...

2. A real gun/same gun as Windsor was used in window shatterings, but a bullet(s) was just not recovered.

3. Maybe he uses different types of weapons for "variety"---similar to how a serial killer may stab one victim, then strangle the other. Maybe he has a few different toys he likes to play with. Most gun enthusiasts I know have more than one gun.

...just thinking out loud, what about some kind of dart gun?

I just happen to see a bag of clear glass marbles at a garage sale last week. Could something like that be shot out of pellet gun or paint gun and shatter on impact, in what possibly have been practice runs?

I agree. There is no doubt in my mind that all these car windows shattering at the same time is not a coincidence. I still believe what I posted earlier in this thread, that they are all connected, except for the road rage incident in Downtown Denver. The only difference I can see in the incidents, is that two people were hit with bullets. So they have the bullets to connect them. They don't have any bullets to connect the others.

Best as I can tell they haven't even recovered any bullets from the shattered windows yet. So they only have the bullets from the shooting victims to go on.

Notice there was an incident 4 days earlier at the exact same location you just quoted above (mile Marker 245 @ I-25, but Southbound:

Parked U-Haul truck with driver's side window shattered. Owner thought it might be kids throwing rocks.

April 5: Travelodge - 3820 Highway 119

The driver had her two front side windows shatter from a pellet gun shot. Based on the report, it seemed the deputies thought the damage may have been from a boyfriend who was being arrested on an outstanding warrant."
