I had the location on our map wrong by a couple of hundred yards. I'd thought that Cori was shot while merging onto I-25 proper, not, as she was exiting Harmony to get onto the I-25 on ramp. I remember debating that point with Prairiewind, who had understood it correctly, it turns out.

Here's the link to the now corrected case map.

The description of exactly where she was shot was unclear in every report on the incident. LE should have been more specific.

But to their credit, they have stated it clearly now. I'm loving the detail they are giving in the maps and video, but the real news of the press conference, in my humble, was that the Task Force is shifting its approach to interfacing with the public. I'm guessing that Foxfire is nodding in patient approval of at their taking his advice.

Was that you, Footwarrior, who'd been arguing for what turned out to be the correct location? Forgive me if I'd confused you with Prairiewind.

I saw on the evening news that Cori is having a baby...might be soon too from the looks of things...

I don't think that we'd ever heard this before (from the Task Force's FB, linked here):

"...The motorcyclist was not injured and reported that he/she had been chased from the intersection at 402 and South County Road 9E by an old Orange/Red pickup truck. This map indicates the route taken by the motorcyclist and shooter that night. ..."

Confidence, no closure for victims' families
http://www.coloradoan.com/story/news/2016/04/26/confidence-no-closure-victims-families/83544194/

"The updates started to dwindle as months passed by. There just wasn't much news to share, David Jacoby surmised. When he heard what investigators planned to share at Tuesday's news briefing, flashbacks to spring returned — seeing his brother's bike on the side of the road, planning the funeral, the ubiquitous uncertainty. He's confident in the group's competence to find his brother's killer and those responsible for five other shooting incidents across Northern Colorado.

But doubt takes over sometimes.

What if the killer is never found?

"That flashes into your head every now and again, especially when you don’t hear a lot about what’s going on," David Jacoby said Tuesday in a telephone interview.

It's unavoidable.

“Even if this guy is found, it will bring some closure but it’s not going to bring anybody back. What’s done is done," he said. "Somebody may be brought to justice, but it’s not going to change what the situation was to begin with.”"

"Tuesday's news briefing didn't surprise him. Nor did it surprise Mary Connole, whose brother William Connole, 65, was gunned down on a Loveland street corner two weeks after Jacoby's killing. She knows investigators can't tell her everything. She wishes they could share more. She respects their expertise.

"I have faith in this task force,"*she said Tuesday evening in a telephone interview. "When I see the facts, I see a group of people working tirelessly to find the bad guy. That's what I know. I believe that their efforts will come to fruition because I'm an optimist."

That optimism has been essential during the past 11 months to combat the horror that continually replays from June.

"It's been traumatizing," she said. "It's been devastating. It's been painful. It's just been horrible."

She too has had a support system to lean on, and that has helped. But with the weather warming and the shooting anniversaries nearing, a sense of anxiety is building. A killer walks free, and Mary Connole wants to make sure no other families have to experience the turmoil she and the Jacoby family have experienced.

"Please be vigilant," she stressed. "If anything comes to mind and you didn't speak up before, don't be afraid to speak up.""

Northern Colorado shootings task force update
http://www.9news.com/news/crime/n-colorado-shootings-task-force-update/154331037

"Since it began, the task force has received nearly 5,100 tips from the public. Some have been specific to the pickup truck and some on potential persons of interest. Over 1,800 vehicle tips have been followed-up on. The task force has also conducted over 1,000 interviews.

Twelve persons of interest have been "eliminated" during the course of the investigations.

More than 340,385 phone numbers have been processed. The numbers were collected in an attempt to identify some sort of commonality based on dates and locations. Appropriate court orders were used to process the numbers."

"The task force does not have an individual or exclusive budget to itself. Every agency participating in the task force provides resources through their existing budgets, which pays for working hours, equipment and other special needs. Funding for the task force has been approved for a six-month extension.

These agencies have investigators assigned to the task force:*Larimer*County Sheriff's Office,*Larimer*County District Attorney's Office, Windsor Police Department, FBI, Weld County Sheriff's Office, Loveland Police Department, Fort Collins Police Services and the Greeley Police Department.

The task force has utilized and received support and resources from these agencies: Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Northern Colorado Regional Laboratories, surrounding law enforcement agencies in Boulder County and other law enforcement agencies in other states that communicate with the task force on a regular basis."

Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force continues to seek leads (Updated)
Task Force releases photos, videos at press conference Tuesday, continues to encourage public to report information

"Despite not yet locating the shooter, task force members said they believe they will locate the person or people responsible.

“The task force believes these cases will be solved with the help of the community,” Moore said."

"The task force has also ruled out any connection of the shootings to incidents of shattered windows reported to local law enforcement agencies.

Larimer County Sheriff's Office task force member Capt. Robert Coleman said while all the incidents haven't been connected to one another, the reason they're all being investigated by the task force is that they are all random.

“They are at people, and their intent is they are shooting into vehicles or at people with the intent of causing serious bodily injury or death,” he said."

"The task force is made up of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, but officials also reach out to other states when they hear of similar incidents to see if any connections can be drawn, according to Coleman.

Moore said despite requests for the information, the task force won't release any information about firearms or bullet caliber, forensic information or tactics and range of shots — though it also wouldn't dispute information released by the coroner's office that Connole was shot in close range. He said releasing the information would put the investigation at risk.

In an interview, Moore said it's also difficult to determine how much money has been spent on the task force's work because there isn't an individual budget — each agency involved in the task force provides resources.

Similarly, he said, it's difficult to track time — investigators and officials involved in the task force also hold jobs at their respective agencies.

But Moore remained confident that the task force would solve the crimes and said members look forward to the day they can announce that they have to the victims' families and the public.

“Historically, and in my experience, you get that many experienced investigators together, you're more apt to turn every stone over at least twice,” he said."

I hope someone takes advantage of the opportunity for a $50,000 Reward!

"Moore stressed in the press conference that anyone with any leads should call the task force tip line at 970-498-5595, even if they think someone else has already reported the information.

Law enforcement also reminds the public to stay vigilant, he said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is still offering a $50,000 reward for information that will lead to arrest and conviction on the cases.

The task force has set up a Facebook page with videos and other information about the shootings at http://www.facebook.com/Northern-Colorado-Shooting-Task-Force-898627956871939/.

Members of the task force are conducting their work in an undisclosed location, and the Larimer County commissioners approved $33,000 to*renew the lease*earlier this month."

3 pairs of Northern Colorado shootings in 2015 now linked; 2 people killed, 1 survived in shootings
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/new...inked-2-people-killed-1-survived-in-shootings

"FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Authorities are now saying three pairs of the shootings in Northern Colorado last year are linked.

There were several shootings that targeted drivers, a cyclist, a pedestrian and even a medical center and a school. Two people were killed, one woman was seriously injured.

"I can say with a high degree of confidence that these were intentional acts and not accidental," Larimer County Sheriff's Office Captain Bob Coleman said during an update Tuesday from the Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force."

"Denver7 Reporter Jennifer Kovaleski spoke to victim Cori Romero Tuesday, after authorities announced the updates in the investigations.

"It is unsettling just knowing that this person could be walking around - that I could have possibly come in contact with this person that kind of makes me feel a little unnerved," Romero said.

"I think in the back of my mind there is that, that little feeling of just discomfort - especially driving late at night or by myself - but for the most part I've just put it in the back of my mind," said Romero. "I try not to even think about it because I don't want to dwell on it for the rest of my life."

"Do you believe they'll ever find the person responsible?" Kovaleski asked Romero.

“After a year, I hope that they do, I'm not just not sure that they will just because of the nature of how it happened, nobody was around, there's not cameras on the lights where we were at so there's no way to know where this person escaped to," Romero answered. “It all happened so fast that I wasn't able to even get a license plate or even an accurate color of the vehicle."

"I'm 100 percent relieved to know that it's something that they're wanting to get figured out and that they're working on doing," Romero added. “Knowing that they're still looking and that they're still going back and looking at evidence to try a and figure it out... I can't explain how much of a relief it is to know that they didn't just forget about us.""

Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force Press Conference 04262016
Larimer Sheriff

(Alright, all nighter, took a bunch of still shots from the surveillance videos and will post later, need to get some shut eye before work. SearchinGirl asked about the black spots...was also looking to see if I could make out more than one person in the vehicle, I think I do but it could be my eyes playing tricks on me, really hard to tell.

I also think a full transcription of the PC would be valuable here so putting that on the todo list.)

Eta: I'll go ahead and just post the stills now. These are 2nd/3rd generation from the TV from the presser video, Haven't gotten to the original clips yet, but wanted to start with the presser shots. I see SugarQueen also posted a still upstream.

Random thoughts:

Interesting how we have 3 pairs of linked shootings, but none that can be linked to each other yet forensically. The 2 different vehicles are also interesting. All a part of the careful planning, if all incidents are connected?

We always knew a connection to the Banner Health and Elementary School shootings were likely. Much upstream on that including photos.

Yes, Forager, Foxfire is indeed applauding LE's decision to utilize the public and social media. I'm really loving all their visuals. Also look forward to keeping up with the comments on the page (yes, Forager, who knew these guys had a fb page lol).

They basically said in the presser they will keep investigating and will not disband the Task Force.

My opinion Re the shatterings is that just because they have not been able to link any of them yet, it does not mean they are not necessarily connected.

In the presser they stated that they do think they will solve this case, with the help of the public. They've analyzed, collected evidence and now turn to the public.

I am still tripping out about Connolle being shot from a vehicle with a shotgun at close range. I think we discussed this possibility upstream.

Re: the Mini Cooper, I wonder how many of those are registered in this area, surely they would have all been checked out, there must be so many of those vehicles.

Again, I think there is some stuff in the Presser, Q and A, worthy of discussion but not yet specifically mentioned in msm that I'm seeing.

I wonder if NS is one of the 12 POIs they mention.

I still keep thinking about the incident posted way upstream Re the person who saw 2 people in the (white truck iirc?) And one hung their head out the window and pointed a gun.

I want to crosscheck the recently released routes of travel with some of the brainstorming on the travel routes posted way upstream.

Per the presser, they don't know if they are dealing with single or multiple suspects.

The surveillance videos have been enhanced.

:offtobed:

Remember, that these have been digitally enhanced, per LE:
