Indeed, starting with the Self case where evidence doesn't support Browne's claims. I imagine it's the same for many of the other murders he claims to have perpetrated.Rle7 said:"Some of the things he said are not panning out"
I get really suspicous of these guys who start claiming responsibilty for every unsolved murder and disappearence in the country.
Of course everyone wants to clear these cases but alot of these guys just like the attention of LE coming to them like they have all the answers.
I remember when Lucas and Toole were claiming they knocked off every one from the Lindberg Baby to Marilyn Monroe...sadly there are still people who think they did.
Does anyone have a chronology on this character? That is where he was at various times and a list of suspected crimes committed by him? One post stated that he began his work in 1970 - perhaps that was his first known murder. Where was he in 1969 and earlier?
According to this research summary, he was down my way in New Orleans from 1977-79 and claims to have committed at least one murder here, and one down in Morgan City. Excellent timeline in the linked article. This is what I want to know too.
He was discharged from the military in 76' but claims victims in the early 70's... so he must not have been deployed.
All the murders he claims he committed in the 70's are in Louisiana.
He doesn't appear to have gone west to Colorado until the 90's.
Do we know if he ever went further than Colorado?
Utah?
Nevada?
Arizona?
California?
I want to know where he was in 1977.
On 04/14/05, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Detective Rick Frady of the El Paso County
Sheriff’s Office contacted Diane Odendahl of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation,
Program Support Unit. Detective Frady had provided Ms. Odendahl a vehicle
identification number of 1G2NE14U1HC926030 from a white 1987 Pontiac Grand Am
which had been reported stolen to the Colorado Springs Police Department on 11/15/87
(case report #87-33456). The vehicle was recovered on 11/29/87. The Pontiac was
registered to Joseph A. Sperry. Detective Frady did learn the last known address for Mr.
Sperry was in the West Palm Beach, Florida, area.
Is this the white car, SK_Hunter?
Map of Colorado River Wildlife Sanctuary
Affadavit to the arrest warrant in Colorado, 2006, for the 1987 murder of Rocio Sperry -- 44 pages with texts from some of the notes and details of other murders. According to the affadavit, the white Pontiac Grand Am was recovered.
If anyone is interested, a Texas Ranger is scheduled to hike out to this location tomorrow in an attempt to locate the vehicle. Not really sure it gets more exciting than this! lease:
