I am still very hung up on the fact that he apparently had his brother's ID on him. Why? If he had no contact with the brother in two years why did he have his ID? If he was so smart did he really think no one would figure out who he was and what he was???? Just boggles my brain among all the other things about this shooter.
Just makes me want to scream.
I feel so bad about his mother and then again I begin to wonder about her maybe enabling him so much.:banghead:


These poor families and these little children dead an buried at Christmas....this is just so incredibly sad.

At what point can schools intervene, if at all and recommend some treatment? AL would have still been a minor at this point. This in no way describes anything close to normal behavior or even just behavior of someone who has social anxiety, IMO. I feel like privacy laws and inability to intervene have really caused as many problems as they may have solved.

Schools are mandated reporters as are people in healthcare. By law if the suspect something is wrong they have to call.
Due to his age, being over 18...
and the fact that no one has reported seeing him in 2 years
no one knew.

I don't know...good question. Have we seen a driver's license for the shooter? I have not seen all documents so may have missed it. Would like to see it if someone has posted it.

This sounds like she kept the weapons/ammo in a foot locker on the basement floor.

Some of those locks are not hard to cut off with the right tools...you have to wonder if NL was getting worried lately about AL, she could've moved the weapons locker to her bedroom and put a lock on her bedroom door

At one time he wasn't an adult and it didn't sound to me like he was able to make decisions about his needs.

I wouldn't call just cause a kid is skinny.

My cousin was 6' 7" and weighed 145#
I was 5' 8" and weighed 90#
My mom had an 18 inch waist at 32!
I know that it happens in some people...
(kinda wish I was still that small)

but still we didn't "look" like we were in a concentration camp!

No, it was AL's license.

MATOU-- IMHO Lanza planned the whole thing out to make this a cat and mouse game for LE, make his mom pay for her decisions, make his brother pay for ignoring him for years and make the children, faculty pay because his mom was closely associated to the school and that's where he was likely first diagnosed having emotionally disturbed and/or other disabilities

Lanza waited for his mom to return on Thursday 12-13-12 from New Hampshire and then killed her when she returned home

He probably already broke into the foot locker for the weapons/ammo while his mom was gone to NH

Lanza probably found his brother's old ID in the brother's bedroom and used it to fool LE because Lanza knew he probably would not survive the shooting and he wanted to pin some humiliation/embarrassment on his brother by making everyone think it was him doing the killings

Lanza's planning also included destroying his computer's hard drives to make it even more difficult for LE to extract any thing behind the shootings

What would you expect school to report? He was diagnosed with Asperger's.
Those behaviors are symptoms of Asperger's.

Maybe the brother's was an old one and he carried it so they could identify next of kin? Go to the address and find mom?
Surely he didn't think they would mistake him for his brother!

I BET then license he had on DMV files was still a learner's permit.
I have a feeling he NEVER took or passed a road test!

Do you have any thoughts as to why the ME would want to consult with a geneticist? Are there hereditary conditions that could cause such wasting?

I have a hard time believing that the pic in this link is AL....very different look IMO.

and another pic....the eyes are so different IMO
