I'm taking a break from TV news. I'm reading local news, NBC, and NYT. I never get tired of Triple D reruns on Food Network, and there is a marathon of hour-long compilation episodes on today. TV news is depressing :(
I'm gonna re-do Great British Baking show and watch some of those moody, Scandinavian crime shows with the English subtitles I normally have no time to read!

Never heard of Manuka Honey. I'll have to look into that. I have raw honey from an apiary that is local to me. We have dreams to someday keep our own bees and produce our own honey, but that's far off now with this virus outbreak. We eat fairly healthy too. One thing I regret not stocking more of is frozen fruit for smoothies. I have one lonely package of frozen berries and some canned pineapple. Oh, well. I'm not going to risk going to the stores at this point in time. We are low on fresh produce but we should make it through this week at least. Then I'll try to get a curbside pick up of groceries.
Get your online grocery order in early. My daughter went to pick hers up yesterday, but when she got there 3 pages of her order was 'not available currently'.

Anyone with an autoimmune condition and are on immunosuppresants are we really at risk? I keep getting mixed messages, I thought with an autoimmune, your immune is overactive. I am waiting for tomorrow so I can call my specialist as she is not in today.

Hi everyone, This morning I spoke with my nurse regarding my low grade fevers, dry cough and headaches since the 6th of March. My nurse feels this could be from having sinusitis. The post nasal drip going down the back of my throat is causing the dry cough. Since there is pollen in the air allergies could also be a factor. I will be putting away my dark thoughts and stop thinking it might be the virus. Everyone thank you again for caring about how I feel. What a great group of people we have here.

I don’t think normal rules will apply to Harry and Meghan. It’s not right but I can’t see them being deported.
They're back in Canada already aren't they? So they don't have to worry about being denied entry? I presume they're living there legally anyway. Hopefully it won't affect them.

Quick tip: if you have to be out in public like me traveling today. Glove one hand. Use that hand to touch things the public has. Use your other non gloved hand to touch your things, your door handles, your keys, your phone etc. then once you are back in your vehicle, appropriately remove the glove and dispose. Sanitize to be sure. Considered Lysoling the pump but I’m saving it for my hotel room. Lots of people on the road. Figure they are driving instead of flying. One more stop before the hotel. My boss still thinks it’s way overblown and people are just trying to get out of work and all of it just makes him mad so yeah..my schedule won’t change.

Good suggestions. Thanks.

I worry about pregnant women. In a couple of months when hospitals are overrunwith coronavirus patients will they tell low risk (or, God forbid, all) women to birth at home? Should there be emergency online midwife classes?

I am so worried about my daughter. Due to deliver now in just a few short weeks. Right now, her hospital will allow her and her husband only. We are in MI. If it becomes more widespread, I wondering if they will even allow him in? Never know what he could carry and a test is only good for that day.

You need to stop teasing us and post the dang recipe. :p:p

My Shepherd's Pie is just that - my version of the classic savory pie. There are hundreds of recipes, British, Irish, and Scottish versions, and each has its own tweaks. Shepherd's Pie is always made with lamb (ground or chunks), but if you're not a fan of lamb, you can make it with beef or turkey. Technically, though, if it's not made with lamb or a combination of beef and lamb, it's actually called Cottage Pie.

This recipe is probably closest to my version, and I substitute beer for the beef or chicken stock :D I also top the potatoes with shredded Irish cheddar cheese and a few dots of butter for browning. Bon Appetit!

I'm double posting this, as of now I have listened to and answers/questions many have asked here such as @gitana1 .. sorry I don't remember others. Information as to folks that are on ACE inhibitors (folks on this thread I'm assuming know what ACE relevance is... )

This is VERY technical today... I had to listen twice today, but for folks who have asthma and ACE inhibitors like @gitana1 , perhaps y''all can understand and update us. I'm off to listen to this for the third time.. as I'm kinda lost.. but he and others have talked about this since January when we were on thread #2.

Thank you for posting this. Now I'm considering calling my doctor and getting my medication switched but I'm afraid I'll come off like I'm overreacting. I liked it better when I thought "My hypertension is controlled with medication so they don't mean me!"
