Circumstances of Disappearance
Mariem was last known to be at a Teen Challenge in Costa Rica, not in Monterey County in California. She was last seen on 2/01/2018.

I can't find anything online about this 9-year-old going missing. IMO something seems amiss, with the lack of information, unless this is a custody dispute? Or the other scenario that crossed my mind, was last seen swimming in the ocean and was presumed drowned?

I also wonder why it appears someone has reported her missing in California. Was she reported missing to authorities in Costa Rica back in 2018?

Whatever the circumstances, I hope she is safe. She was only 9-years- old, not even a teenager. Who was watching her in 2018, and who reported her missing, when, and why?
