Driver in Avon hit-and-run drove with high school victim on his roof for 4 miles, police say

A man was arrested for hitting a young bicyclist and fleeing the scene with the victim on still on the roof of his vehicle, police said.

Avon police identified the driver as 29-year-old Alex Joel Rivera.

I can think of several reasons, most start with impaired driving. I am pretty sure that drugs or alcohol are involved in this incident.

Avon police identified the driver as 29-year-old Alex Joel Rivera.

According to an arrest warrant released on Tuesday, Rivera knew he struck the victim but didn’t want to go to jail because they’d take his daughter away.

Three other people were in the vehicle, including its owner and two children, the warrant said.

He did this with multiple kids in the vehicle.

You stated that perfectly, he's not just a danger to society at large. But I also have questions about the vehicle owner's part in all this. But perhaps she didn't have a cell phone at the time.

NO children should ever be allowed to be within five feet of him - let alone be in his parental care.
