A bit more information which comes from what seems to be a very well informed family tree on Ancestry. As usual we should be careful in relying on Ancestry trees, but this one seems especially detailed.

Frances Macklin married Joseph V Tuccitto in New York in May 1928, but Macklin was not her maiden name. She was previously married to Allen Macklin in 1925 (with a daughter of that marriage) and was born as Frances Levina Hubbell on 20 January 1908 in Connecticut. A separate marriage record on Ancestry, from West Hartford Connecticut in 1925, and which is not attached to the tree, confirms the marriage of a Frances Hubble (sic) to Allen Macklin - so it seems to support the tree information.

None of this clarifies the disappearance, but at least it adds another possible name to the search.

College Class Reviews Historic Unearthed Confession Tapes From 1950s That Could Have Clues to Connecticut Cold Cases | Connecticut Law Tribune

The tapes are currently under review by retired cold case detectives from the Connecticut State Police to determine whether they may contain information related to other cold cases. Originally recorded on reel-to-reel tapes, the audio has been digitized by volunteers at the museum, who noted the retired detectives have begun reviewing enhanced versions of the recordings with headphones.

“There’s a couple of other killers’ tapes in there, one of which we believe may be involved in the disappearance of some people who haven’t been recovered yet,” State Police Museum Chairman Jerry Longo said during a Zoom interview with UNH journalism students last month.
Longo did not specifically identify other cases. Nor would the Connecticut State Police.

Has anyone determined why Milwaukee Police are the contacts on this case and not someone in Connecticut? Is it possible a child lives there?

Additionally, does anyone have access to the missing persons report to see when it was filed?

Frances' sons.

Hartford Courant from Hartford, Connecticut - Newspapers.com
Her son Sebastian Tuccitto died in 2012. Frances' husband's name was Joseph. Seb's obit mentions one brother named Joseph Jr, so I assume her and Joseph had two boys.

Frances' husband

Hartford Courant from Hartford, Connecticut - Newspapers.com - Joseph was arrested for drunkenness in March 1953, just months before Frances went missing.

Hartford Courant from Hartford, Connecticut - Newspapers.com - Joseph was sued in July 1953 (a month after Frances Disappeared) for taking a car out on a test drive, not returning it for a few months and then bringing it back damaged.

Hartford Courant from Hartford, Connecticut - Newspapers.com- Joseph was again arrested in 1955. Him and a woman named Anita Hall were paying for stuff with fake cheques.

Frances' husband did die in 1956, aged 48 or 49.

NOTE: I can't find any articles actually about Frances' disappearance itself.
