I have made comparisons to The Green River so many times and also thought they should call in their investigator, if only to take a look at their best suspects.

I just want this guy caught. I don't care who it is. I don't care if I'm right, i don't care if I'm wrong. I just want SCPD to get it right.
I hope someone on that task force cares as much as the guy investigating Ridgeway did

Somewhere on WS there was discussion/confusion as to whether other victim's family/friends received calls from the killer. Some thought Megan's mother might have received at least one call. Can anyone comment on this?

I did get a few at work they had asked my employee for my phone number stated they were with the new york police dept and wanted to talk about Megans case. For one the detective has my cell phone number not my work number. It had freaked me out I had called higgins and had told him what had transpired and he more or less told me to not to go out alone for a while.

May I ask how many times this happened and during what period? Like was it in 2011/2012/2013? And do you think it was HIM? Do you think they looked into it seriously and had the idea it was him or have they never let loose anything about it anymore just like they did with some other things...

I think most of us "assumed" Megan left her phone behind when she left the motel so it's very enlightening to know that you believe she DID have her phone with her. I realize LE has given you very little info about their investigation but do you think they attempted to trace her phone??

I know that detective reichert is retired now and has done a lot of interviews/documentary specifically on himself and his hunt for the green river killer. He is now a congressman. He seems to really care about helping the public and was so dedicated to hunting Ridgeway. I think he would honestly be open to discussing the LISK case if contacted. He just seems that way.

Also, Ida Lopez is the detective on the west mesa serial killer case. I don't know if it's because she's female or what but her compassion for her case and her victims families is the way I wish every detective would treat their cases. I think her insight would be valuable as well. She is a desk detective of a cold case unit now. I think there is something unique about detectives who have successfully hunted serial killers. I don't think scpd was prepared or qualified for the magnitude of this case as it unfolded.

I know there's no way to prove your hunch is right or wrong at this time but I think there is something to be said for human instinct and gut feelings.. I'm a pretty perceptive person, it hasn't failed me yet in life, and I think you speaking out is admirable. I hope it leads somewhere and LE takes it seriously.

The reason I asked my last question was because I found an old news report link posted on MB's thread which states:

"Barthelemy’s family faulted the police for delaying the initial search for her. But New York City police said they had begun to track her cell phone signal within a week of her being reported missing. “Missing persons launched an intensive investigation as soon as they received the case,” chief NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Thursday.

Police tracked the signal to midtown Manhattan and searched areas near Pennsylvania Station and the Port Authority bus terminal, but the signal went dead, according to an official who had direct knowledge of the case but was not authorized to speak publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity."


I realize we are talking about two different police departments, and I have to assume the NYPD spokesman Paul Browne was quoted correctly... but I would hope LE attempted to track Megan's phone too!


I do apologize for asking all these questions but we really do CARE and are hungry for any information.

he called my work 5 times and it was from july till dec when Meg was found. When ever he called I was not working then.
People did not know where I worked but the detective so how did this person know where I worked.
Oh wait moms work which means megan had her phone with her
new york pd was never on the case it has only been scpd

Did LE try to put any kind of recording device on your phone to catch these calls?

Although there are several people I know, some even more convinced about this guy than I am, I'm by no means discrediting anyone else's theories or claiming there could not be other, just as viable suspects out there.
I forgot who spoke about us not being able to possibly know what this guy would or wouldn't do, because we can't possibly think like him, Is exactly right.
You couldn't imagine the days and nights we've been together, discussing this among ourselves, sharing what additional information we have come up with. It's dizzying, frustrating and now that the cat's out of the bag, Somewhat scary.
I'm hoping this is a lead others will follow.
Maybe all the additional talk will lead somewhere

True, nobody is really able to think exactly like him, unless you find one that is incarcarated that's almost completely identical to him. Dark Minds uses '13' who said to be Joel Rifkin and 'Raven' who's been said to be Keith Jesperson but even they can only go 'to a certain point' when it comes to thinking like a killer, because they're all different after all.

Did this guy contact both Amber and Megan from their online ads and on the same evening?

Did this date occur at the same hotel from where Megan was last seen?

Do you know if Melissa or Maureen had been contacted by this same guy?

Looking back at the video I stand corrected it was Phelps who mentioned Megan leaving her phone behind, but looking back I see articles that start from CBS news in Dec 2010 with this quote...

When police searched the hotel room they found Waterman's makeup, clothing, cell phone and other belongings, Ela said.

There's a few other articles with the same quote the following month from a couple more news outlets so this is where the notion came from, how accurate the info is I guess is up for debate but I knew we didn't just pull this out of thin air.

As far as I know, that's true about amber turning down the job at that same hotel. Amber didn't want to meet there. I also heard it was 2 weeks apart but Megan's mom would have to confirm that. I read it in the media and we all know that can't always be trusted.

Everything I have read said this hotel is common for escorts to use. It's known for being in a seedy part of town and it's off the path from what I read but I'm not a local so I can't confirm from experience. But I have read it was used a lot because of its low security and a known john/escort meet up...which seems to be unfortunate and scary because Megan's mom confirmed some of the security cameras were not even real they were just on display.

We are just rehashing information that is already in the girl's threads on in threads already organized. To add this rehashing to these old threads would IMO just clutter and confuse. I do feel sorry for anyone trying to catch up on this case. It is very complicated and there is so much information to process. Sorry.

I know this case is really heavy with info and a lot of the facts are buried deep in old threads. I can't imagine how hard it would be to catch up on all of this because there is a lot of rumors and misinformation to sift through.

I'm working on a gathering all the videos of specials that have done on the LISK. I'm going to put them all in one place on a youtube channel. I have a lot saved from when it originally aired. I know its hard to find this stuff online. It shouldn't be...and I don't know why when something airs about this case it doesn't get more attention. It will be worth it to have it all in one place.

I'm also compiling a fact sheet for each girl. I think that will help a lot of newcomers. Any new theories will help this case needs all the attention it can get.

I really do welcome anyone to join in on the discussion. I was just thinking about the best way to organize the threads but as long as progress is being made that's all that matters

I think this says a lot about him. And thank you so much for sharing all this with us. I read a while back about these phone calls to your work but I never new if they were rumors or not. Now that you've cleared this up then it shows he in one way or another messed with all three girls phones except for Amber who didn't have one.

I seen in another post by you that you don't think Megan was going to the store. But do you think at all maybe she would of called a cab to go to the store?

First, my sincere condolences to you and any other family member or friends of these young women.

You made a great point. If SPCD was only on the case then why would NYPD be calling you? They wouldn't right?

This made me think of something. Wasn't there an NY cop that was found to have contacted (by PC or phone?) one of the girls before they went missing? Was it MB? Does anyone remember the details of this?

Would someone mind sending me a PM and share more about who this mechanic guy is? I've been reading, here and there, but mostly I've been out of the loop the last 10 months or so.
