Deborah was last seen in San Antonio, Texas on January 9, 1987. She was abducted from her home by her step-father, Ray Moberg, on January 7. Ray also abducted Deborah's 8-year-old sister, but released her at her grandmother's house the next day.
Ray was later captured and charged with molesting Deborah's sister. For 6 months, he refused to say where Deborah was, but he then admitted he shot her to death and disposed of her body in a dumpster. Extensive searches for her body were fruitless. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison for her murder. Deborah has never been found.
