I did a double-take when I saw this while searching the images!...
A volunteer pilot took Norton’s mother over the area of the mine and turned the plane in various combinations to replicate what the miner heard and then used the plane’s trajectories to map a search zone. But no sign of the wreckage was found, Dayton said.
Although the ground search had ended, air search efforts continued, Dayton said. In addition to volunteer pilots, a donor from California was providing drones to create ground images for searchers to analyze.
Norton’s family was planning to discuss whether to stay at the search site any longer, Dayton said.
"Jonathon Norton’s family is coming to the realization that we’re not going to find him," Dayton said. If the air search turns up no new leads, the family will resume the search after the snow melts.
"There is just too much forest. It feels like we are looking for a needle in a haystack and unless you miraculously walk on top of the crash site you won’t see it," he admitted.

I could not find what you mention there are so many grids and the site seems to freeze and reload for me and I must start all over sometimes..not smooth sailing ...:scared:
:tyou::lookingitup::cup:
Could whomever is also spending part of their day TAGGING grids on this site searching..
please contact me maybe we can organize a sort of search party...
searching from left to right top bottom etc. and compare notes on what may be a spotting of something?
I am specifically searching for letters in snow, colors which are out of place which would indicate someone trying to signal help?
I was thinking maybe the plane did a [ nose dive?]
If it did the tail would be the only visible part of the plane right ?
If you know a scale of the plane and what the people would look like[ as in height on scale to this grid]
http://www.beechcraft.com/beechcraft/bonanza_g36/specifications.aspx
if you can see this the specs help in getting a rough idea of the plane size in regard to the area.
It is white and since it crashed into the snowy mountains it will[ dah] be hard to spot.
I was hoping maybe a passenger put a mirror to reflect light on something near the crash site?
Good luck everyone....
let's find this crash site..
lease:
I am looking on the far right of the grids today from bottom to top...then I plan to do the outline edges around the whole search area.
We have AMAZING people on this site that can look at these satellite pictures and help find the missing plane.
I was asked to post this information by a family member.
Thank you for your time.
On Sunday December 1st, my nephew, Jonathan Norton, was traveling on a private plane from Baker, Oregon to Butte, Montana with his fiancé Amber Smith, her father, Dale Smith (the pilot), and her brother, Daniel Smith, and sister-in-law, Sheree Chalmers Smith. The plane never made it to Montana. It suffered some engine troubles, and is believed to have gone down around Johnson Creek landing strip near Yellow Pine, Idaho (just east of Cascade, Idaho). We have been diligently searching since Monday with a significant amour of air and ground support, but to no avail. We just learned of a search tool that enables anyone to search satellite images (updated at least as recent as 2 days ago) in an effort to locate the downed plane. We are humbly asking that anyone who has a little extra time to please help us locate our loved ones so that we can bring them home. You can search the satellite images by signing on to this web site.

Thank you in advance, and please pray for a miracle.

RENO, Nev. -- Rescue teams racing against the clock and the bitter cold worked into the night and were hoping to resume an aerial search Tuesday for a couple and four children who have been missing since Sunday when they went to play in the snow in the remote mountains of northwest Nevada.
The temperature was expected to drop below zero again early Tuesday after plunging to minus-16 degrees the day before in Lovelock in the rugged area where the group was believed to be, about 100 miles northeast of Reno.
"It's got to be brutal out there," said Mark Turney, a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. "Let's hope they are found quick."
