I sure hope so :) I am just having a hard time visualizing a 4000 page document  Phone transcripts and e-mails in there also help me with that.

poco,do you think the PJ have been gathering stuff on the McCanns since the start and that is why its 4000 pages or did the PJ start gathering a month ago when the British police came more involved and refocused the case?
I said at the beginning of this case, that the P LE had information that wasnt made public for fear it would contaminate their case and make the suspects aware that they were being watched and listened too.

 No you didn't Shazza, why are you lying!!! :D :D :blowkiss:

Well, there are a few comparisons to be made- both couples had three children and both were on holidays when their child disappeared and both are getting persecuted by the press.

What Lindy is saying is that if the public and the police dont get any answers, they start making them up- sounds a bit like this forum doesn't it?
No end of rumours around here, with no solid facts.

Snarla, I love ya'. You know I do, but good Lord, you must be on a different forum than me, because I see plenty of facts and evidence.

Come on girl, give that spoon a rest. It must be getting tired.

I have bolded the part I am questioning - I thought from the very beginning the were not allowed to talk about the facts. The
Secrecy laws in Portugal forbid them to talk about any facts on the case. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure that was stated right from the beginning.

You are right wtsn5.

The McCanns were not allowed, and have not talked about the case, from day one.
This is because of Portugals secrecy laws. The Portugese police had told them that doing so could affect any future court case.

This is what has made it so one sided IMO.
It seems the police get around their own secrecy laws by deliberately leaking to the press.

Does this apply only if they are in Portugal because here in the UK they have given newspaper interviews and have been all over the front pages?

I haven't seen or heard any of these interviews so are they discussing facts of the case during these interviews?

Mrs. Fenn said one of the children cried for 75 minutes two nights before Madeleine disappeared, and the staff warned the McCanns about leaving the children alone.

Calikid I may have missed this, but has Mrs Fenn's supposed statement been confirmed for a "fact" or is it yet another questionable rumor/leak?

Hi christine,

I have to admit that I haven't taken into consideration that whatever happened to Maddie may have happened before dinner or earlier that day.

Anyone know the last time that Maddie was seen that day?

This appears to be the million dollar question? We don't know. I believe whatever happened to Maddy, was prior to 8:30 p.m. the night of dinner and drinking. As early as the day before.

As far as I am aware they have never discussed the "facts" of the case even in th UK.
In every interview I have seen or read, even in the UK they have stated they cannot discuss the "facts"

most of the intervviews have been discussiing it in broad terms as from the abduction angle - also from a personal level - how they felt , guilt etc all done before the latest revelations of DNA etc

To be honest I thought they had, but I have not read everything, I just know they have given interviews - but they have discussed when they were in for Police questioning though haven't they?

I thought anything from the interviews had been told to the media by the family - not directly J&K?

That's what I thought - because this is dominating the media at the moment and I am hearing different stories from all different angles, I am getting confused........ not that it's hard to confuse me though! :bang:

Kate McCann gave this interview to The Sunday Mirror on Friday morning, hours before being made an arguida - official suspect - in the Madeleine inquiry.

You're so correct, I agree 100%. Also the #1 suspect in any murder is the person closest in relationship to that person, e.g. in this case - the PARENTS!!! They've had their eyes on them from day one!

I keep reading on this forum that Gerry admitted sedating one or all of the children.
Can someone please provide a link? Or point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

I never heard Gerry say it or read it but I did hear myself Kate's dad say it in the interview with him on Sky News. Link somebody!!?

Also, who was it that said Kate said, "They've taken her"?

Seems like some people are sure they wouldn't be able to think straight if they discovered their child missing, but are ready to nail Kate to the cross for what she said upon discovering her child was missing.

I can kind of see your point, but why wouldn't her remark be "I can't find Maddy" or "Maddy's not in the room"???? I'm not so sure I can even start to believe that the FIRST thing that a parent would say is "they've taken her".

That's not true. I've seen many places where the McCanns have discussed this case, particularly the night that Madeleine went missing. It's only when it comes to questions regarding their culpability where they clam up and hide behind the secrecy laws.

And as far as I'm concerned, telling their family who then leaks the information to the press is the same thing as telling the press themselves.
