I’m just saying for not knowing who he left with or where he was going seems a little odd that you knew he had $300

I suppose....just saying the roommate hasn’t said who GJ left with that night, where he may have been going or description of vehicle he left in as far as I’ve seen reported anyway but he was sure that $300 dollars was missing. Idk just seemed a little strange to me but they haven’t released much of anything re the investigation so it’s hard to know what if any tips or information they’ve had on the case. If someone really had picked him up that night and they weren’t involved / or death was accidental (which I doubt) why wouldn’t that person have come forward and provided additional information. It doesn’t make sense that he supposedly was picked up by someone and then could’ve possible ended up alone in that area accidentally ending up in the water dead......and none of his belongings were recovered.

My belief is this crime will be solved by someone running their mouth, bragging, etc. I strongly suspect its more than one perp and they’ll turn on each other. The crime reeks of anger and prejudice based on the social media posts. I do wonder if it qualifies for the definition of hate crime.

I also have an adult child living in that county and it worries me too that this crime is unsolved.
 
I completely agree and I don’t believe for a second his “friends” have absolutely no idea what happened. I really wonder if the detectives have asked all his closest friends to take a polygraph? You are right the people involved were very angry and vengeful it was definitely personal. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing they aren’t putting anything out there so maybe the people responsible will think they got away with it and put their guard down and slip up....or if putting more in the media would put more pressure on them
 
Someone will talk for $10,000, eventually. I am confident he knew his murderer(s).

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers wants the public’s help to gather information about how 19-year-old Gage Jackson from Charlotte County died.

Back in April, Jackson was found dead in Praire Creek off Washington Loop Road. He was last seen in that area on March 19 around 11 p.m.

According to Crime Stoppers, Gage was an avid outdoorsman, who spent much of his time hunting and fishing. He was skilled at maneuvering the elements of the woods and was very familiar with the local terrain.

An anonymous donor is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that can help detectives come to a final resolution on how Gage died and how his body ended up in a waterway.

Anyone with information on Gage’s death, or any circumstances leading up to his death, can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for the reward of up to $10,000. Tips may also be made online at the Crime Stoppers website or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
 
Disappointing that a year later there is no update or information released. I fear the controversy that immediately followed with his juvenile record hindered public interest for a resolution. If there is a suspect involved in foul play, it’s disconcerting they are still walking around free. MOO
 
The reward is up to $28,000, but still no cause of death has been released by LE, according to this article from Oct 3/4, 2019:

". . .Law enforcement isn’t calling this case a criminal investigation as of now, but Routte said even if it turns into that, Jackson’s family deserves to know the truth. . ."

As the one year anniversary of the death investigation of Port Charlotte teen Gage Jackson approaches, an anonymous donor has increased the reward for information leading to an arrest in this case to $50,000.

This amount is in addition to the $3,000 being offered by Crime Stoppers. Flyers announcing the increased reward, and necessity for tips, will also be distributed in an upcoming edition of the Charlotte Sun.

“We are very confident that there are people in our community who know exactly what happened to Gage, and who is responsible for his death,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator. “If you happen to be someone who has information that can provide answers in this case, we need to hear from you. Although it’s been almost a year since this happened, it’s never to late to step up and do the right thing.”

It was one year ago on March 19th that an evil person took the life of our beloved coworker Gage Jackson. He was brought to his residence on Washington Loop road where he lived with his roommate across the street from Blackjack circle after work on Tuesday nignt around 9pm. He didn’t come to work Wednesday morning so we called his mom because it was so unlike him not to show up. After 11 days he was found in the creek - none of his clothing was found - the murderer must have hid them. This was not a suicide or an accident but it’s still being called a death investigation. There is a huge reward for any knowledge of what happen. If you live in the Washington loop area ASK YOUR NEIGHBORS if they know anything about that horrible night. He was nineteen years old. If any of your friends have kids that age ASK THEM TO TALK TO THEIR KIDS about it!! Please! Family and friends are still hurting! Who killed Gage Jackson???????
 
I’m curious why hasn’t his death been made a murder investigation.....it’s pretty apparent that foul play was involved. Doesn’t make sense if was some type of accident or natural cause his belongings would’ve been found. It’s very disturbing we have individuals capable of such a horrific thing still out there most likely still in our community. Maybe if the news could run a special segment on the investigation it would get people talking and keep pressure on those involved.

They just can't call it murder without any actual evidence of it. He was found floating in a creek either naked or in his underwear and they won't release the autopsy because of the investigation so there are likely complicating factors. Those could be anything from Gage having drugs or alcohol in his system, his body being partially eaten by gators, signs of drowning or hypothermia but no evidence to support suicide or explain his missing clothing, they may know or think the roommate or someone else is lying but cant prove they killed him etc.

Welcome to Websleuths. Police case files are essentially always kept private. During active investigations it could greatly hamper efforts for the perpetrators to know what evidence has and hasn't been found. If cases go to trial, a lot of that information does become court records which are much more public. Also although Florida does have public medical examiners autopsy reports, they are sealed during active investigations so in this case that is also no doubt unavailable.

You probably have some personal connection to this case but even if you didn't, Facebook groups usually have the most (not necessarily best) info about an ongoing investigation. Read through those and if you know some of the posters personally you can use that insight to get a better sense of what's going on than we can. Ask around. Cases like this only take person revealing one verifiable bit of info to unravel.
 
$100k is an awful lot of money and this doesn't seem like a mafia hit. I feel like the people who know what happened just don't know that there's a $100k reward that can be collected anonymously. Someone should make posters with this info on them and put up around the area.

The Unsolved Casefile: Who Killed Gage Jackson? - Court TV

Routte says today the cash reward for answers has grown to $103,000 thanks to a recent anonymous donation.

“Someone needs to be held accountable for their actions in Gage’s death,” she said.

Routte says those closest to Jackson know who that someone is, but they’re keeping quiet when it counts most.
 
Gage Jackson went missing in Charlotte County four years ago as of Sunday, March 18.

According to SWFL Crime Stoppers, 11 days later Jackson’s body was discovered by a boater in Praire Creek.
