Three Fla. Children Found Dead Under Bed
LONGWOOD, Fla. (AP) - Three children were found dead under a bed in their home Tuesday, a day after their mother was arrested in North Carolina.

Authorities said they were led to the children - ages 5, 6 and 9 - after Andrea Williams made comments following her arrest for trespassing. They did not elaborate.

Longwood Police Chief Tom Jackson said the children did not appear to have suffered any trauma, but autopsies will be performed.

Police: Three dead Longwood children were likely drugged

LONGWOOD -- A mother likely killed her three children by overdosing them with sedatives or sleeping pills, officials said Wednesday.

Andrea Williams, 32, was charged with murder for the deaths Ivey, 5, Ian, 6, and Ilona, 9, after a preliminary autopsy examination had ruled out violent trauma, drowning or carbon monoxide poisoning as a cause of death. The children's bodies were found Tuesday under a bed at their home, about 15 miles north of Orlando. They had been dead for days.

"The strong opinion of the coroner is that it was an imbibed substance such as a barbiturate or a sleeping pill" that killed the children, Longwood Police Chief Tom Jackson said. A final autopsy report won't be completed for several weeks. --->>

The couple was separated and Andrea Williams and her husband, Gary, had filed for divorce last year. Court records show that Gary Williams tried to get custody of their children after his wife attempted suicide in October by overdosing on pills and alcohol. Gary Williams described his wife in the court file as "depressed." --->>

The judge in the divorce case denied the request and ordered mediation for the parents.

In court records, Gary Williams also argued his wife was an unfit parent. She had fallen in love with another woman, he said. Andrea Williams, however, successfully completed a state-sanctioned, four-hour parenting class program in October, according to court records.

A woman who admitted to fatally poisoning her three children on Mother's Day was sentenced Tuesday to three life terms without parole.

Andrea Williams, 32, of Longwood, pleaded guilty to three first-degree murder counts in exchange for prosecutors' agreeing to waive the death penalty.

On May 9, Williams fed fatal doses of the prescription drug Xanax to Ilona, 9, Ian, 6, and Ivey, 5, and lay down with them until they fell asleep.
