Prosecutors announced Wednesday that they will seek the death penalty against Mario Fernandez if he is convicted in the murder of his wife’s ex-husband, 33-year-old Jared Bridegan.
When the prosecutor read the death penalty filing out loud to the court on Wednesday, she said Bridegan was murdered for financial gain. Prior to that revelation, there had been no mention of a possible motive or any previous talk about money being a factor.
I wonder what that financial gain is?

Climbing inside the criminal mind I'm wondering what level of narcissism Shanna holds within. Does she think, after the path of destruction she's left behind, she'll just move out west and her involvement will just nonchalantly slip through the cracks, and MF and HT will take the Florida fall 3000 miles away, and dial up mom for a another house purchase and a bank account top up. Water off a ducks back, I'm good.

She knows the gig is up, and anticipating a visit from LE.
Hard to understand the calculating mind of a narcissist, their brains are wired different.

It says the defendant was "previously convicted of another capital felony or of a felony involving the use or threat of violence to the person." To what is that referring?
As far as monetary gain, SGF & family are apparently quite wealthy. Was there a payoff to MEFS to ensure Jared was killed? And, if so, I'd guess SGF knows LE is closing in if this is listed in MEFS's Notice of Intent to Seek the Death Penalty.

*Status Conference Hearing (@ 9am ET) - FL - Jared Galen Bridegan (33), father of 4 ambushed & killed (shot 4 times), his 2-year-old daughter was just feet away in the back seat, Jacksonville Beach, Feb. 16, 2022. *Henry Arthur Tenon (61/now 62) arrested (1/25/23) & charged (1/26/23) & arraigned (2/13/23) with conspiracy to commit murder in the 1st degree, 2nd degree murder with a weapon, accessory to the fact to a capital felony & child abuse. Plead not guilty. Held without bond (murder) & $1.5M (other counts).
In Tenon's court file "on or between 1/4/22 & 2/16/22, in the county of Duval & the State of Florida, did agree, conspire, combine or confederate with other human beings to, unlawfully and from a premeditated design, effect the death of Bridegan."
Trial was set to begin on 7/19/23 was cancelled, Tenon plead guilty (3/16/23) to 2nd degree murder. Sentencing hearing on 6/14/23.

3/16/23 Update: State attorney Melissa Nelson said Tenon plead guilty to 2nd degree murder in court Thursday & agreed to testify in Mario's case. The "State waived the sentencing guidelines, defendant agrees to testify truthfully against any co-defendants, State will drop counts 2, 3 & 4 at the time of the sentencing," the agreement reads.
3/21/23 Update: Status conference was cancelled. Next status hearing on 6/7/23 @ 9am & sentencing hearing on 6/14/23 @ 9am.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One of the men accused in the murder of Jared Bridegan appeared in court for a status hearing on Wednesday morning. Henry Tenon's lawyer asked for a 30-45 day pass date.
Additionally, Tenon formally agreed to be sentenced by a different judge than the one he entered his guilty plea in front of.
Tenon is set to next appear in court on July 12.
An arrest warrant released in Bridegan's murder shows detectives built a case against 62-year-old Henry Tenon after initially locating him using the make and model of his car. They then tied him to a second defendant, Mario Fernandez Saldana, using cell phone and bank records -- including three handwritten checks the latter wrote to Tenon.
Both men were charged with the murder of Jared Bridegan in February 2022. Fernandez Saldana has pleaded not guilty to first degree murder.

I wonder how they were hired and paid for. And why they have advised MF to plead not guilty, do they tell MF the evidence against him is too weak and there's nothing to worry about?

Mario Fernandez-Saldana has pleaded not guilty in the murder of Jared Bridegan. The state announced to the courtroom that they would be seeking the death penalty in the upcoming trial.
In addition to murder charges, he is also facing child abuse charges, because Bridegan was killed in front of his 2-year-old daughter, Bexley.
