The body of 37-year-old was discovered inside a large duffel bag near the iconic Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

The lifeless body of Kelly Koike was found at approximately 7.24pm. The initial spotting of the duffel bag was made by a dog walker who happened to be in the area.

The grim discovery was made on Sunday morning close to the site of the three-day Outside Lands concert that had been taking place over the weekend. It is currently unclear if Kelly had attended the concert.

Kelly Koike graduated from Castro Valley High in 2004 and pursued her passion of cooking by attending culinary school in San Francisco. However, her mother shared that Kelly had been struggling with multiple mental illnesses and had faced challenging times in recent years.

"I know deep deep down in her.... she's a good girl. She has a messed up here (pointing to her head), but she got killed?' her mum added in an interview with ABC 7, "'Being homeless in the city, I knew something bad would happen."

Inside her daughter’s beautiful exterior, Roya said Kelly was tormented by schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and more.

Kelly resisted medication and treatment, Roya said, and for the past four years had lived on the streets of San Francisco, mostly right outside the courthouse for convenience because she was often in trouble with the law.

According to the woman's mother, Kelly was a graduate of culinary school and was working as a concierge in San Francisco before her death.

RIP Pretty lady, I am sorry life here was so tortured for you. Prayers for her mom :( So so hard dealing with a family member's mental illness. Trying to balance between protecting them and yourself from them when necessary.

Now, nearly three months later, homicide detectives publicly identified Alexander Madden, 26, and Emilia Beckhusen, 33, as suspects in the case.
Madden was arrested on Nov. 2 and Beckhusen on Nov. 4 on suspicion of unlawful disposal of human remains and conspiracy, police said.

Koike’s mother, Roya Koike, told The Standard in a phone call after her death in August that Koike was her only daughter and youngest child.
“She had so many aspirations,” Roya Koike recalled, adding that her daughter was a creative soul who graduated from Castro Valley High School in 2004 and then from culinary school in hopes of becoming a professional chef.
