‘The Woman with the “Jean & Nelly” ring’.

The woman, of stout build, had had a hip replacement (Landanger implant No. L96211C) to the left hip. The implant was likely to be part of a batch delivered to Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy.
The two rings with stones worn by the victim dated from the 1940s-1960s and had been made in Italy or Türkiye.
Case details:
On 5 March 2008, the body of a woman was discovered below a coastal road built into the face of the cliff in a very isolated spot in Villefranche-sur-Mer that was difficult to get to. The women was found in the middle of brambles and bushes some 5 metres below the road.
The woman had died from a trauma – presumably a crime – four to six days before her body was discovered.
