An interesting (to me being local) coincidence? Lois's sister involved in a situation where she allegedly intentionally ran over her own adult son.

Mother faces charges for running over son on purpose, MN deputies say
Bizarre as a lone story, but quite incredible to having a sibling who also appeared to go whacko violent in late life nearing 60 years old.

"Never in a million years would've guessed that something like this would happen, especially around such a quiet neighborhood out here," Haefner said. "They were always friendly, always willing to help out within our community, and I would never describe them as off or malicious in any sort of way."

Authorities say Grund was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the alleged incident.

I don't know about any Texas charges. I just now researched online and couldn't find any criminal charges in Texas.
Just a guess. . . perhaps Texas charged her with Possession of Stolen Property since Hutchinson's car was located in Texas and was towed and impounded “for forensic processing” there.

I couldn't find any court case for Lois Riess in Cameron County:

And, I couldn't find online access to Texas District Courts:

Suspect in Florida, Minnesota shootings waives extradition
April 23, 2018 10:26 pm
[...]
Cameron County District Attorney Luis V. Saenz, said federal deputy marshals brought Lois Riess, 56, to the 197th state District Court, where she waived extradition to both Florida and Minnesota.

Saenz said Florida authorities have been in the area since Friday and that Riess likely would be taken there first to face murder charges. Legally, Florida has 10 days to take Riess into custody.

Had Riess chosen to fight extradition, Florida and Minnesota would have had to provide proof the woman arraigned Monday was actually Riess.

A tip-off on Thursday on South Padre Island led to Riess’ arrest about 8:30 p.m. at an Island restaurant. Island spokeswoman Angelique Soto said Friday that a witness called police to say that a woman matching Riess’ description was spotted at the restaurant. The car she was using was towed and impounded “for forensic processing” and she was held in the Island jail until being taken to Brownsville for Monday’s arraignment.

Riess did not resist arrest and did not have a weapon with her when arrested. However, detectives recovered two pistols, one .22 caliber and one 9 mm, from the motel room where she was staying, Soto said.

Lois Riess waives extradition; where she goes depends if Florida, Minnesota gets to her first

Hutchinson's Acura was then seen traveling west and Riess was spotted in Louisiana, where she used her own ID to claim a $1,500 jackpot prize from a casino. An attempt to get $200 at a Louisiana gas station failed, authorities said.
She was also seen driving Hutchinson's car in the Corpus Christi, Texas, area.
It's unclear what brought Riess to South Padre Island, a 40-mile long barrier island off the coast of Texas, but it was a tip to authorities that ended the manhunt.
U.S. Marshals and South Padre Island police officers found Riess at a marina-side restaurant just before 8:30 p.m.Thursday.
The stolen car Riess had driven to Texas was found and taken into evidence Saturday.

Thank you SeesSeas for checking out the Texas charges. I'll put in my notes "Stolen car" next to Texas. :)

"A grand jury in Minnesota indicted a 57-year-old woman who authorities allege fatally shot her husband before fleeing to Florida and killing a woman there.

The Dodge County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Lois Riess on first- and second-degree murder charges.

Riess, who was known as 'Losing Streak Lois' because of her gambling habit, allegedly killed her husband, 54-year-old David Riess, at the couple's home in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, in March 2018."

According to the paperwork, deputies found David Riess dead, covered with a blanket, after his business partner asked them to check on him. He hadn't seen Riess in 16 days, but had received suspicious text messages. The search warrants say investigators suspect Lois Riess was using David's phone. David's employees said Lois told them David was leaving for a fishing trip, was sick, and they shouldn't bother him at the house. The lead investigator believes David Riess was already dead.

Today's case management hearing was before Judge Robert Branning. He expressed unease over the amount of time the case has taken.

"I can't believe this is the fourth or fifth case management hearing on a case that's over a year old," Branning said. The case has gone over the planned time frame.

Riess' defense attorney Jay Brizel said he understood the judge's frustration, but defended their slow movement on the fact that they have to do their "due diligence" on the case that spans five states.

He compared their case to a "duck on a pond," though there appears to be no movement on the surface, they are thrashing away underneath.

A pretrial hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 17.
