Gwinnett Co GA, north of Atlanta: A man led police to the body of his 10-year-old daughter found inside a metal trash can Saturday at about 4 a.m.
Police made the discovery after responding to a 911 call of a suicidal man, who also told the dispatcher the girl was dead. It appeared that her body had been burned, police said.The man is in custody.

Gwinnett County Police said a man called 911 shortly before 4 a.m. and said he wanted to commit suicide. He told dispatchers that there was a dead body with him and that his daughter drank “some type of chemical” and had died.

yeah, cause when my kid inexplicably drinks a chemical my first reaction is to try to burn the body, hide it in a garbage can and then go call teh cops to tell them how suicidal I am.

This is gonna be one sucky story to follow, guaranteed. Poor baby. Fly princess, no harm can touch you now.

The little girl has been identified as Emani Moss.

Moss and Emani Moss’ stepmother, Tiffany Moss, have both been arrested and charged with felony murder, cruelty to children in the first degree and concealing a body.

Both are being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

I alerted to ask after I posted. I don't know (yet) what Emani went through in her short life but I doubt this was an isolated incident.

I saw those earlier and was thinking how much she looks like someone I once worked with years ago. I can't remember her name and I live in Canada anyway but the resemblance is striking.

I read burned, as in tried to burn her remains, but this newsreport said:
"Officers went over to the trash can and located the body of Moss' daughter, Emani Moss, 10. Police said her body had severe burns."

There is nothing I can say.

Unfortunately, you called it. Monsters! History of cruelty, beating & running away. (Bless her heart, DFACS sent her back to the abusers.)

This time she was starved.
According to arrest warrant affidavits for Eman Moss and Tiffany Moss, the couple allegedly “caused the death of the victim … by denying the victim enough food to live. Police claim that Emani had been kept from eating for as many as a dozen days.

“My baby went through hell,” said paternal grandmother Robin Moss, who raised Emani. Moss said after Emani told her she was being abused, her son and his new wife kept the girl away from her.

Gwinnett police confirm as much.

I am so angry. I am so very weary of reading about children murdered by parents after having been returned to their monsters time after time by CPS.

I so agree. Look at this beautiful child. I would have taken her in a heartbeat. I have a grandson who is partially deaf due to abuse; thankfully, he is now safely with my son. But he has an older brother who was taken from their mother at a few months old with several ribs broken in various stages of healing. I later got to meet his foster mom, who ADORED him and so wanted to adopt him. No way; CPS sends him back. Years later, he is a cutter and one of the saddest young men on this earth. This is so horrid for that poor Granny who probably did all she could; just as I did. This entire system needs an overhaul.
