"We're hoping and praying that he's still alive somewhere and that he's not lying in a ditch, hurt or suffering or that someone has done something bad to him. We just want our family home," said Richard King, Bud's nephew.

He says his uncle was last seen getting on a MARTA bus at 11:11 p.m. Saturday after eating at the Applebee's on Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker.

Sounds like he is very much loved by family and community. This article mentioned that he had mental disabilities which is why he didn't have a vehicle and regularly rode the bus. New details behind community-wide search for missing DeKalb County man

On Friday, a Mattie's Call was issued for King, and his family released new details regarding their loved one's disappearance.

His family said that MARTA Police detectives reviewed surveillance footage from where he got on a bus in Tucker last Saturday night. They saw that he fell asleep and missed his stop, but the driver kicked him off at the Kensington bus station, which was the end of the line.

King was then spotted hopping onto the next bus trying to get back home, but he once again fell asleep and missed his stop.

The MARTA bus driver kicked him off in front of the Texaco at 1525 Mountain Industrial Boulevard in Tucker. The family said they drove to the Texaco, but the gas station does not have cameras to watch. A family member said they then walked across the street to the Speedway at 5448 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Cannot believe the bus driver kicked a mentally ill person off the bus instead of helping him. I wonder if he just got lost and died of exposure or if someone took advantage. Hoping they'll release the autopsy soon. RIP Coach Bud!

Jerry and his family walked back into the woods where police found Bud. Jerry said he was found in the creek in bad shape.

Now that the search efforts are over, the family is looking for answers.
