One family desperate for answers as law enforcement continues the search for missing Screven County man

Law enforcement is still looking for a missing man in Screven County. Prescott Jr’s cousin said ever since he went missing, the family has been worried every day.

The Screven County Sheriff’s Office said he was last seen on the morning of June 23 on Kimwood Drive.

They first noticed something was wrong when he wasn’t responding to calls or texts.

Right now, they say they fear the worst as rumors spread about what happened to him, noting it’s not like Prescott to just disappear.

The GBI is helping the Screven County Sheriff’s office in a search for a missing man. Sheriff Mike Kile said Kary Prescott was last seen in Screven County on June 23.

Sheriff Kile says they had a late start to their investigation. The family reported Prescott missing this weekend after he threw a block party and never showed up.

Kile says they’re beginning to treat the case as a possible homicide and are now looking at persons of interest while continuing the search.

Wednesday morning, July 17th, the Sheriff’s Office shared photos via social media that showed the pond in the search area along Kimwood Drive – the pond had been drained in the search for information about Prescott’s disappearance. Following the completion of this task, according to the post, the investigation will continue to move forward.

Family of missing Screven County man Kary Prescott, continues search for answers

Tuesday we’re hearing from the family of Kary Prescott the man who has been missing out of Screven County for several weeks now.

The Screven County Sheriff’s Office says Kary was last seen on June 23 on Kimwood Drive, his family says he was dropped off by his brother.

The family initially reported him missing back on July 6th.

Family still seeking answers on missing Screven County man

Kary Prescott's family initially reported him missing back on July 6. This week, they described the frustration of waiting so long without answers.

• “We’re not feeling like we’re being cared about." - Kary's cousin, RP
• Kary was last seen on June 23 on Kimwood Drive, his family says he was dropped off by his brother.
• Searchers say with the help of the DNR and GBI they checked that area on Kimwood, but didn’t find anything after draining the pond there.
• Tuesday, Sheriff Mike Kile says they’re continuing to chase down leads-interviewing over 50 people.
• He also says their plan is to bring dogs in and around the pond to completely cross off that area.
• Kary’s father says he is frustrated with the lack of answers and transparency in this investigation.
• The family said they also feel hopeless not being allowed to conduct their own search parties.
• The sheriff’s office says that the family isn’t allowed on private property, and that they have already searched five or six areas by drone.
