Attorney Brian Steel just played a portion of Young ’s verse on the song “S.L.I.M.E” by Ola Playa, to describe what Slime stands for.

Detective Belknap testified that he disagrees that Young ’s account, @youngthug, is “all about his music”. Prosecutors presented a bunch of tweets from his account during their questioning of Belknap.

Attorney Brian Steel is now showing the jury a series of tweets from Young ’s account, @youngthug. The picture in one of the tweet is of Walter Murphy, an alleged co-founder of YSL.

9am media hearing in #YoungThug. The state proposes that on specific witnesses no be shown on camera (this has already been happening) and witnesses that have security concerns, that they only be identified by their initials until their testimony is complete. Hearing this morning to see if Judge Glanville will order that and what the defense has to say about it.

Judge Glanville media ruling: to address certain during their security concerns expressed by certain trial witnesses in the case, Counsel for the state counsel for the defendants. And counsel for the media intervening shall, consult with one another on a weekly basis to determine the manner in which the testimony of the state's anticipate witnesses shall be recorded under rule 22. This shall occur by five pm on Fridays.

YSL Judge Addresses State's Motion on Limiting Recordings in RICO Case​


On Thursday, Judge Ural Glanville heard the state's motion on limiting recordings in the YSL RICO case. Judge Glanville ultimately ruled that the state and the defense should consult with each other about the issue on a weekly basis.

If something happened I may have missed it, because they have been doing audio only at times. moo

Here's a recap for anyone is interested.

  • About three weeks ago, the prosecutors filed motion to ban the media from filming and photographing of witnesses -- however, they asked that the judge allow audio only and to not publish full names of witnesses.
  • Judge Glanville set a hearing on Feb. 2nd.
  • Feb. 1, the state asked for Friday's media hearing to be cancelled. The camera will stay in the courtroom. It is likely that some witnesses won't be shown on camera, audio only.
 
NEW: #YSL defendant’s attorney motions to withdraw from the case (and I don’t blame her). Angela D’Williams represents the youngest defendant, Lil Rod. She’s a public defender who got a assigned this case that is going to end up taking probably a year and a half to two years from jury selection. She said she’s lost her office due to the hardship of basically getting paid next to nothing. She can’t stay on the case at risking losing her livelihood .

This same attorney made it known in the beginning this was going to be a hardship and somewhat jokingly said she would need to start OnyFans to stay on this case.

Angela D'Williams, the only appointed defense attorney remaining in this lengthy YSL trial, is again asking to withdraw from the case.

She said the money from the $55,000 annual cap she agreed to last year is gone and that she had to give up the Gwinnett office she was leasing because of this trial.

YSL Atlanta gange case: Attorney wants out over ‘egregiously low’ trial wages

Some of the appointed defense attorneys in the “Young Slime Life” gang trial say they aren’t getting paid enough to properly represent their clients.

Attorney Angela D’Williams, who represents Rodalius Ryan, submitted a motion this week asking to withdraw from the case, calling the pay “egregiously low for the amount of work and attention this trial requires.”

YSL trial is out till next Tuesday. One juror has something scheduled tomorrow and it sounds like another recently lost a relative. One juror just asked Judge Glanville if he could refrain from announcing which days they'll be out of court.

Apparently some of the jurors have heard from their employers about their off-days. Glanville said he's trying to be "forthright" with his scheduling, but offered to call their bosses if they need him to.Lawyers/defendants will actually be in court Monday for motions***

Angela D’Williams, the attorney for 19-year-old Rodalius Ryan, made a rare appearance at the lectern today in Young ’s trial today. Rodalius is charged only in the RICO count and is already serving life in prison for murder he committed when he was 15.
