"We have a recording device that we are afraid to tamper with and so we just gave it to them. They are going to pull the hard drive," he said.

Snipped from link
I didn't get who was saying this. Who is "we" and "them"

Sheriff gave it to the FBI is what I believe he meant.

I think they are very close to catching the killers. No way this was committed by someone random or very recently meet by the couple.

I think he was beheaded in front of wife to make her suffer. This was someone with LUST filled rage and anger towards the couple.

Yeppers.

This was personal.

He wanted this couple to suffer in the worst way possible. I assume he got what he wanted.

He'll get what he has coming too, if not in this world, the next one. Burning in Hell for eternity is exactly what it says......eternity....forever....no relief, no end.

said they'd gathered a lot of forensic evidence from the home, whatever that means really, maybe dusting for prints maybe on the front door and garage areas/doors? What would that be if the house was immaculate?? How would they know what they should collect

IDK....I'm stuck on the immaculate house. If the house was neat and tidy, did LE simply do a swift fingerprint dusting....or what??

There will always be the have's and have not's. But in today's society unfortunately sometimes the have's don't seem that having it is enough, and want more.

I think the "personal" and "not leaving his head>removing evidence" may be a bullet to Mr. D's head and his decapitation. That's "personal."

Mrs. D>not as personal (if you're a homicidal sociopath)---blunt force trauma to head.

Actually I am kind of leaning that way too. Sills is like the cat that swollowed the mouse.

I am not familiar with him but others that have followed his cases does he always act this confident.

He also seems to have lots of time to sit with neighbors and talk to reporters. I am not used to that. It drives me crazy when following a case and they give nothing out and it falls into silence.

I think Sills is doing a great job keeping this story in the news! I for one am counting on him.

I really think the Sheriff is utilizing the media as part of this investigation.
I think he is purposely saying things in an effort to provoke certain reactions and they likely have some under surveillance.

So is "PERSONAL" in these videos meant in GENERAL as to the TYPE of crime committed ?

OR

does it mean "personal" as in vendetta against them for other reasons that causes the crime to be committed?

according to the following, the crime itself, is "personal"

http://www.studymode.com/essays/Personal-Crimes-Analysis-356984.html

A personal crime is a crime that is committed against a person, which affects the victim in a personal way. There are various types of personal crimes which affect an individual, but I will be covering homicide, assault, battery, mayhem, rape and statutory rape.

If the FBI BAU2 responded on all double homicides of adults in the US with 40 Special Agents on each investigation. They would never make it back to their home base in Quantico, VA, nor would there be over 100,000 missing/murdered person's cold cases in the US, imo.

Imo, the FBI's tremendous amount of resources being utilized on the Dermond abduction/murder/decapitation investigation indicates that this case is not the norm, but an anomaly...JMO

a murder is personal..............i would differentiate the above as being more or less invasive

I'm confused

Even the "have nots" want more, then sometimes they rob you

Some people are born with a gambling spirit, not as in going to the casinos but as in, "they can't stop" working another project or deal to make money

More power to'em if it's legal, wish I had that much energy, in mind and body

then there are those who can sit and watch the GRASS GROW and not even wanting to TRY anything

If we were all like "A", then we'd all be killing each other LOL

Question to the truly tech savvy folks...maybe some one who worked/works for a phone company can answer this for me...
Can you pull a record with the phone numbers of a specific cell tower's pings from a point in time to another point in time?? (like in the Sniderman case)

Thanx for sharing, QueenD..

Noticed that one of the security cameras of the Dermond's neighbor was focused on the D's dock, yet this is not the critical area of concern. The camera footage of the critical area of concern was sent to the FBI for tweeking..
Interesting.....the critical area of focus must be the undeveloped wooded property searched by LE a week ago adjacent to the Dermond's home..
It would be reasonable to conclude that LE has info indicating that the perp/s did not enter the Dermond's property via their dock..imo

I would expect the primary area of focus to be where the mouth of cove enters the lake.
IMO he wants the registration #'s off the boat as much as anything else. Depending on how well the boat was cleaned it could be a treasure trove.

gngr~snap, you may be on to something... Sheriff Sills is confident that they came in by boat and there were 2 perps. The dock was likely ruled out since there was footage on a neighbors security camera. It makes sense that they may have footage of a boat with 2 people entering the mouth of the cove, and possibly three people leaving in the same boat, yet unable to identify the registration number, or a clear photo of the perps...

If this is the case, imo, they would likely already have a suspect/s under surveillance, just in case they decided to run...

"The heat is on, imo"..
