Not only is the accused a terrible ''best friend'', he is also a terrible liar, imo!

''Teresa said she had multiple conversations with Ford after her daughter's body was found and after her funeral. Teresa testified that Ford made weird statements about her daughter's death as she was trying to figure out what happened.
"He told me a story about how Tori came over to his house. She was looking for someone to hurt her for $300," Teresa recounted.''

''The mother of the 18-year-old also said that Ford made another "weird" statement: "that he didn't want to be a green bean coming out right now because the guys that hurt Tori might be look out for him," the mother added.
This was one of the statements he made closer to the vigil for Tori's death, which was at Yellow River Park, according to the mother. ''

Eighteen-year-old Tori Lang was found dead from a gunshot wound under a tree in a Georgia state park in 2021. Investigators found her burned car five miles in a wooded area five miles away from the crime scene. Nearly one year later, Lang’s best friend was charged with her murder. Austin Ford faces a retrial after a judge declared a mistrial in his first trial when the jury could not reach a verdict.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (Court TV) – A Georgia man whose best friend’s body was found under a tree in Stone Mountain Park is facing a second trial for her murder. [...]

A new jury will hear the evidence in Ford’s retrial. Court TV will provide gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Best Friend Murder Retrial, which is expected to last approximately one week.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The jury pool was narrowed down from 60 to 12 jurors plus two alternates Monday, in the second trial against Austin Ford, the man charged with the murder of a Gwinnett County teen in Yellow River Park in 2021.
“I’m hoping the jury reaches a verdict on the major charges,” Ford’s defense attorney Lawrence Lewis said.

Lewis said he’s ready for round two, as the second trial against his client gets underway.

Lang’s family reportedly described her as kindhearted — but that might have made her a target.

“One of the things that I would always try to explain to her is you can’t save everybody,” Lang’s aunt Tamara Lang told WSB-TV. “She was always trying to help her friends. I honestly believe in my heart someone took advantage of my baby.”

Ford went to trial for the crime in April, but a judge was forced to declare a mistrial after a jury was deadlocked on a verdict.

The state called #AustinFord a liar during its opening statement in the best friend murder retrial Tuesday. Ford is accused of murdering his best friend — #ToriLang — in July 2021. The 18-year-old’s body was found at a popular park in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

“The state wants you to get into your feelings and overrule the facts,” defense attorney Lawrence Lewis said during his opening statement. “What? Use your common sense with the facts.”

#AustinFord’s defense attorney claimed the state has “twisted facts” they plan to present in his best friend’s murder retrial. Ford is accused of killing 18-year-old #ToriLang — she was found shot and killed at a popular Gwinnett County, Georgia park.

#TeresaLang, the mother of #ToriLang, testified that her daughter's best friend #AustinFord denied seeing her the night of her disappearance. Days later, he admitted to seeing her at his home, claiming that she wanted someone to "hurt her for $300."

Day 2: Medical Examiner is back on the stand.

A Georgia man is being retried for allegedly shooting and killing his friend, leaving her body in a park. This is the second trial against Austin Tybre Ford, 22. A judge had to declare a mistrial on May 1. Jurors convicted Ford of theft by taking, and one count of concealing the death of another, but they deadlocked on charges of felony murder and aggravated assault. They could not agree on whether or not he killed Tori Lang, 18.
