Family of missing Edmonton hospital worker still hoping for closure
"Gail Eileen McCarthy was 23 years old and three months pregnant when she vanished on Nov. 14, 1971. She was on her way to work at the Misericordia Hospital where she was employed as a medical technician.
Wearing a brown coat with a white fur collar and white hospital stockings, the petite woman with brown eyes and short dirty blonde hair was last seen getting on a bus around 6:30 a.m. But she never made it work.
Her husband of five months, Ian McCarthy, reported Gail missing 11 hours after she left their basement apartment at 11820 124 St. to catch the bus a block away."
